Congrats..!! I was looking at that stone as well last week, but ended up going a different route instead.

Fingers crossed for you! It looks like it could be promising. Can't wait to see pics.

TG...love that feedback tip, I do that all the time--esp on big ticket items because I like to see what was represented and if the buyer agreed/gave good feedback.

I would be interested to know why you passed on it Mara. What did you get?

Yes Mara, whatever did you get? 8)

I actually passed on this one too....Bought it and sent it right back that day. I am suprised it was a VVS.
I won't say more, but would love to hear your thoughts when you get it

I ended up getting a 1.5c OEC in a vintage ring. I'll post pics in SMTB eventually I'm sure...!

I emailed a little with this seller, but I didn't want to have to do 'work' to the stone to get it to be what I'd want (recut/faceting girdle etc). Also I've already bought/returned a few things trying to find the right piece and thought this piece had potential but could easily go the other way. Buying/returning can take a bit of a toll on you mentally and also just the hassle/cost of returning the stone.

The other thing to consider is if this stone needs a bit of a recut, what size would it be when done? 1.65c? And a recut could be around $500. So for $6500 you'd have a 1.65c, still a good price, but not quite the same original deal. Anyway I really hope it works out for you because I was just there in your shoes and it sucks to be disappointed. Fingers crossed.

Funny. Just peeked into this thread and I was the one that bought is earlier and sent it back. I have since bought a modern round brilliant. Wasnt for me and quite dark in the center. I had a love/hate relationship....one day I had to keep it the next I didnt.

I am going to pass on it after all. The seller did not want to give me a 14 day inspection period. He cancelled the purchase because I asked for it and I am not much of a buyer on E-bay so little feedback. SO, he does not need my businesss and I don't want to get caught up in a messy situation :nono:

Can you give us your review? I'm just curious.

I think this is a good time to cut out paper circles and tape them on your finger ;-)

I think coatis is two .45cts and one .60ct...

Yep-thanks D, and just to add the measurements for Bright Ice--5.6mm center with 5mm sides, so yep close in size. (I'm partial to that center to sides ratio in 3 stones too)

hth!

Definitely for the best! If two PSers have bought and returned, obviously it is not good value for the price.

These are all great points!

Can't wait to see what you bought!

Agree. After the 2nd PSer who came and said she bought/returned, I just thought...oh no! :errrr:
