Hi Dancing Fire! I’m hoping you can help me - other watch enthusiasts are of course welcome to chime in too!

My father passed away recently, and among the things he left behind are for antique pocket watches. They originally belonged to his father or possibly even his grandfather. Two are gold and two are a white metal, possibly silver?

I’m in a position of making sure that my father’s estate gets divided equally among us kids. So... I’d like to get at least a rough valuation of what the watches are worth.

I think I have some photos on my phone, so I’ll post pictures below just so you can see what kind of thing I’m talking about. Thanks in advance for any input you can offer!

Sorry to hear about you dad passed away. Wish I can help, but I have no idea about the value on antique watches.

Thanks for responding, DF!

I love the font of the numbers on the first one!

Maybe you can try Paul's watch repair on 2601 Marconi Ave?

Thanks - I’ll give them a call. They’ve repaired some vintage watches for me before!

They look really nice :) but pocketwatches do seem to range from a bargain to a surprising amount of money - it is so hard to tell!

If you get them assessed, and get offered a sum of money for them that you consider accepting, make sure to get a second opinion before you do!

You could also see if a local auction house might have a valuation service :)
