How long will it be until the pictures are ready? Sounds like a fabulous ceremony.

I''m not sure. I may have a few tomorrow, but it depends on when everyone gets around to sending them to me! I''ll contact my mother in law and my mom and see what they have!

So, I thought I''d let you know that I''m going to the 1.31 J SI1 stone that Jonathan is getting this week. Its a wee bit more square than I orginally wanted, but still very beautiful. Its in the "range" I gave him, but I was kinda hoping to go larger, but the 1.31 is alreayd slightly out of budget. So, we''re going with that one! I''m excited and disappointed at the same time! I just have to get the 1.5 mark out of my mind for now! I dont know if it will be even that much of a visual difference from a 1.31 to a 1.53. I was also a little scared going lower than a J in an e-ring, which is really the only way I can get a larger size increase for not a whole lot more (about 1200.00)

So

I''ll be more excited when I get it I''m sure! I''m just throwing a small fit because I was kinda set on the number aspect of it! For those who are wondering, the rough the cutter used for the stone w/me in mind came out to be a 1.64 L VS2. I considered getting it, but I''m nervous about the color, and its about 1500.00 more than my budget...so its 1.5 times my budget!

So, here I am...I''m getting what I asked for but more square! I am super happy about it! I know it doesnt sound like it but I need a little time for the whole its not a carat and a half bit to wear off! Silly spoiled me for being a little dissapointed when I get a 1.31 carat stone!

But yay I cant wait to have it! Has anyone seen those new OEC Jonathan has!?!?!? THEY ARE AMAZING!

It doesn''t sound to me like you''re all that happy with the 1.31 but can you wait to see the specs before making a final decision? Cushions are odd in that the 1.31 might face up as large as a 1.5 and still have excellent light performance.

Even so, if it''s the number 1.5 you''re after, why not just wait a bit longer and save up for what you really want? If you get something you''re not completely happy with you will always want to upgrade later.

I did think about doing that. The only reason why I decided against it was because when I orginally put in my rough order I gave Jonathan a 2k budget and a request for a I or J in color 1.25-1.5 carats and VS2 to eyeclean SI1 or SI2 for clarity. I told him my magic number would be ~1.3 carats. Well, when I found out my rough was sourced, they told me it would be closer to 1.5 carats (it actually came out to be 1.64 carats) and this was a month or so ago. If he would have told me it was 1.31 I would have been just as thrilled, but as we had it, I had the idea of WOW I CAN GET A 1.5 CARAT! I really am thrilled with it, and I cant wait to see the stone!

Jonathan emailed me a video link and I acutally like the more square shape as well! Its going to be a beautiful stone! And to be honest....I tried on a 1.5 carat princess cut stone yesterday (before I found out that the one I was getting was a little smaller) and I though...it was TO BIG!
6.gif
I also thought I could get used to it though! My finger size is a 4, and so I''m thinking the 1.31 carat will acutally be just perfect for my fingers. Besides, if I spend to much more $$$ a diamond I think my husband will get sick

The more I think about it the more excited I get!

I think you will be very happy with your stone. It faces up 6.5 mm which is a great size especially for your tiny fingers. I also think the ratio is great! I wish my potential diamond is as square as yours and also a bit smaller :P. I am sure you will be blown away when you see it! I can''t wait to see them.

Steph,
6.5 mm is a very respectable size. I think you''ll forget all about the size concern once you see the OMC fire off large flashes.

Charmy,
I hear that yours is in this new batch. Are you excited yet?

Mixed emotions. I am super excited and can''t wait to see it. Have been waiting for so long. On the other hand, I had my heart set on a 1.5 ish D or E 1.00 ratio stone :P I know I am asking for a lot. It is bigger than I wanted so just need to figure out if there is something as too big. I am hoping once I see this baby .. it will blow me off my feet.

**Absolutely not woman!

but seriously - remember, you''ll likely get used to the size very quickly..

and ** You know it will! - I''m sure you''ll love it (well , I sincerely hope you do - I know we''d all like to see you have a cushion/ring you finally love)

Yup, like AJ, it''s very easy to get used to a larger sized stone and before you know it, DSS will rear its ugly head.
