He gave me the option that if it can''t be graded in time, that he will sell it to me w/the lifetime garentee w/o the the GIA grade and at a lesser cost. However, he said he would much prefer to have it graded. I said I would like it graded if we have the time, but it can take 7-10 days for the GIA to grade the stone...and we only have 10 days until the wedding. So, we''ll see what happends! What do you think? I trust Jonathan and I would like it graded...but I''d much prefer my ring at my wedding!

Of course I would prefer it graded as well, but I do trust Jon. Is there a possibility of having it graded at a later date? It does, however, mean you''ll be without a ring and stone for 2 weeks (shipping time included).

eeeeek that is cutting it CLOSE! I cannot imagine not having your e-ring at your wedding. Since it''s either trust him or no e-ring at wedding... I would have to put my trust in him.

I know right! The thing about it is...I really do trust jonathan. I''m sure he''d grade the stone (I mean...he is the one making all the videos about diamond education and color grading, etc) and I know he would grade it probably the same as the GIA, and so I''m not worried about it. I sent the package out priority mail...and I''m thinking I should have overnighted it! I guess I didnt think about the fact that GOG is CLOSED on mondays! EKK! I''ll call Jonathan tomorrow and make sure as soon as they get it they start work on the ring and have it hopefully started AND finished the SAME DAY! I need it shipped out by wed. at the latest, and if its then...overnighted! AHHH! I''m crazy for cutting this so close! But I really wanted my new stone so that way it was the "real" one! I dont know if I want to upgrade after this (its pretty close to my ideal size) and I''d really like this stone to be "the one" at the wedding...and not the one I traded in!

Did Jon give you the specs of the stone? How close are these specs to your original request?

Thanks! I havent gotten the specs yet. I'm not sure if Jonathan has the cushions yet, or if they are going to arrive in the next couple of days. I didnt want him to have to wait for my package before getting them! I wanted it all to happen in the same day! I'm starting to wig out guys! I didnt over night the package! What if they cant have the metal work and have my new baby set in time and shipped to me?

Oh a happier note...someone bought a pave Liz C band (with real stones, not the stimulates, but those would be okay too!)
31.gif

ANd that new angel setting is TDF! I would LOVE to get my hands on that! Maybe I should just tell my hubby mine got lost and that should be my new ring! "Jonathan! Dont worry about anything! Just ship me that baby to use while mine is getting worked on! I think that will be even!"
27.gif

LOL! What do you think he'd say?

Hey C,
how perfect is it right?!
This is the one solitaire that make me doubt my Legato..
30.gif

And I know others may not agree with me, but that ring - prongs and all - looks
just as fabulous at the LM one. And hopefully without the drama/pricetag, lol..
2.gif

AJ,
I''m hoping the pricetag on the Angel setting won''t be as steep. If it''s reasonable, I''m getting it for my future OMC.

I got the ~ prices from Jonathan for a cushion under 2 carats for the angel setting. Here is a part of the email he sent me
"I believe it is $1500 in gold and $1800 in platinum for diamonds under 2ct."

Almost the same price as Leon Mege''s double prong solitaire but LM''s underside (basket) is prettier. Maybe I''ll stick with my original plan and go with him.

Really? May I ask what Leons quote was? Its hard to believe that GOG would be almost the same price!

Leon''s pricing is actually pretty reasonable for the quality of his settings. He''s come in lower than WF on more than one occasion for other Pricescopers.

Leon doesn''t do WG but his PT setting is very close to GOG''s PT setting price. I guess when it comes to pave, the price increases exponentially due to the intensive labor involved.

That makes since then! I can''t believe Leon would be less than WF! I''m in shock over here! I guess if I decide I want something in platinum...I''ll get a quote from Leon then! I never would have thought that!

No sign of the diamond on the ring front. The wedding is on saturday, and I dont even think Jonathan has gotten the stones yet
39.gif

I''m probably going to call him today and if they dont have an ETA or even know if the cutter has shipped it yet...well I''ll have them ship my ring back to me so I have it for the wedding. Then when they get them in, they can send it to the GIA to be graded as well. Oh well, I have to go because we have more wedding things to do today, but I thought I''d give ya''ll an update! Thanks for the dust though!

I''m so sorry Stephanie.
39.gif
Thank you for the update.

Stephanie, all the best for your wedding this Saturday!!

Will wait for your update after that.

Chrono: I hear you are getting the bigger one
31.gif
! Spill the beans! When do you get it!??!?!?!
Mine isnt in the batch
39.gif
so I have to wait for more to be cut

Hey Steph,
I thought Jon wrote that you are getting the 1.63 ct L VS2 OMC in this new batch that is arriving possibly this Friday? It''s just the ratio you are looking for too, a 1.2 ratio.
33.gif
I''m getting the square 1.64 ct L SI1 OMC in this new batch. I already have plans to take advantage of the warmth to set it with a matching pair of red spinels and possibly have everything set in yellow gold. I can''t wait!

Its out of my budget and my hubby says no

I would really love to get it, but I might end up with the other one you were looking at, but its a little to square from what I was hoping for. Idk though
39.gif

I''m excited for you though! The L is quite warm for an e-ring though...dont you think? I dont know if I am ready to drop that low for my e-ring....do you think it would look okay? Its would be a solitare w/a pave band of ~.25ctw

Steph- hope Jon gets a stone for you, soon! How was your wedding?!?! (did you post about it in BWW?)

Steph,
It depends on your level of tolerance. Have you seen an L in an old cut stone? Mine's a RHR so I'd love a warm coloured antique stone. I'm sorry the L might not work out for you, but I'm sure Jon will find something suitable. He's awesome!

I haven''t posted yet because I dont have pictures yet. I didnt take any with my camera, so I have to wait until they come in! But it was so much more amazing than I ever would have thought! Thanks for asking though!

How long will it be until the pictures are ready? Sounds like a fabulous ceremony.
