Hi, hopefully one of you will see this. I would really appreciate if you could measure the height of your ring (from table to finger) and tell me how many mms it is.
ok, i'm such a nerd ... i was curious too ... so i printed out the profile photo of charmypoo's ring, and with the one known number (depth of her diamond) being 4.66mm, i was able to calculate the total distance between the top of her diamond to the bottom of the donut = 6.32mm
here is how :
on my printed photo ---> depth of the diamond is 14mm, the distance between the culet to the bottom of the donut is 5mm, total height is 19mm.
i know that the real diamond depth is 4.66mm, so i figured out the ratio between 14mm and 4.66mm is 0.33. now i need to find out the distance between culet and bottom of donut : 5mm x 0.33 = 1.66mm. therefore the total height = 4.66mm + 1.66mm = 6.32mm
OR, CHARMYPOO CAN JUST TELL US WHAT IT IS
ok, i will recede to the background with shame now heehee ...
You are so awesome, thank you sweetheart. Anyway, doesn't matter- I already e-mailed Leon with exactly the numbers you suggested 6.5-6.8 mm from table to finger. Thank you so so so much for your help, you're the best!
no prob, i'm not sure how accurate this all is but at least it gave us a ballpark as to how high the diamond is set ... for my meeting tomorrow i'm just bringing ring profile photos that i like to Leon, telling him "this is the look i want"... a little nervous, wish me luck !
did Leon give you a suggestion as to how high/low the setting should be for your cushion adrianna ring ? i am just wondering why you had to do so much work on your own to make a decision? yikes !
Well, Leon initially wanted to go to his default "as low as possible" but I perferred a profile a little bit higher, although not high by any means. I just want to be able to see more of my curved stems in the profile. Since I went against his recommendation, he asked me to give him exact dimensions for what I want, so that I get exactly what I want. Also, so he covers his ass, I'm sure.
Hi Chatterbox, I chose the old mine brilliant from Perry. It's gorgeous! And I preferred to just do it all at one place, which is why I'm doing the setting with Leon.
hellokitty, i think that's why leon gave you an earlier delivery date (before xmas), he had stated in his policy that customers who bought the stone from him would get priority service !
Oh no! We'll see what happens with mine, I'm really trying to lower my expectations so that I'm not too disappointed if mine isn't ready until next year.
