Who Calling Catmom....

DM, I don''t think I''ve ever seen another animal that can poop more than this ferret. It''s a good thing he''s cute and funny!

Linda, they are a riot and they love to go into anything that has a hole or a pouch. When hubby has the ferret out in his office it''s constantly trying to climb up his pant legs, LOL. Ours sleeps in this sling like thing that hangs from his cage. That sounds like so much fun to have different holiday pouches!

Michelle, that is what she makes, these slings and pouches. They hang all over these cages she bought. She has all these cages piled on top of each other with tubes connecting. The ferrets run in the tubes from one floor into the next. It is like 4 story condo for them. ha.

This is random, but what made you decide on Fort Myers as opposed to other parts of Florida?

I am from the panhandle of Florida and have to admit I love it better than south Florida... hehe.

My daughter went to college on a softball scholarship and each spring they would go down to Fort Myers to play[actually all over the state but mainly in Ft Myers]. We would tag along and fell in love with the area. It''s very similar to where we live now. As a matter of fact our real estate guy calls it Chicago burbs south.

Michelle, I am so glad to hear some of your life story. Congratulations to you and your husband to losing so much weight. No sugar for 6 years? Wow, that is an achievement.

You have such a lovely collection of jewelry I have 2 questions. Which one is your favorite? Which one is the most sentimental?

Thanks marcyc! Yeah, it''s hard to believe about a former sugar addict but once you get past the sugar withdrawl it''s amazingly easy to stay away. I think my favorite piece of jewelry is my sapphire pendant. My hubby picked the setting himself and the stone himself. It was a total surprise and I love it. I think it might be tied with my tsavorite ring and pearl earrings as the most sentimental. My hubby bought me the tsav ring right after I had my stroke. It has what looks like angels on the sides of the setting and I consider them to be my guardian angels. My pearl earrings story is a long story but very sentimental. My daughter lost her voice for almost two years, not a sound except for a squeak. We went to a million doctors and ended up with one that was supposed to be the leading specialist in Chicago, did the Lyric Opera, etc. He did exploratory surgery on her but found nothing. He then thought she had been raped or something and was supressing it. He shot her full of truth serum and some other nasty drugs thinking that he would get her to talk. No such luck and it took her days to get over the drugs. He had no idea what was wrong with her and after that fiasco we took her to Mayo and they did exploratory surgery and found scar tissue on her vocal chords. They worked on the lessor scarred chord but she had a terrible reaction to the anesthesia and we almost lost her. It was horrible. Unfortunately she had to go through with another surgery to get a voice back. This second surgery happened to be on my birthday but my birthday was the last thing I was thinking about at the time. They used a different anesthesia and although she did react it wasn''t as bad as before and she made it through the surgery ok. After we knew she would be okay, my hubby pulled out some beautiful pearl and diamond earrings. He hadn''t forgotten by birthday even in the middle of everything with my daughter. These earrings mean the world to me.

Michelle, I know what you mean about once you give up sugar it’s easy to stay away from it.I do still have some sugar everyday but not much.If I have something like a starbucks hot chocolate it actually makes me hungry and irritable all day.How sweet that your husband buys you such thoughtful presents. The sapphire pendant sounds really nice.I really like the tsavorite ring with your “guardian angels”.That is way cool. How awful and scary about almost losing your daughter. What a bizarre thing to happen too that scar tissue would cause her to lose her voice.I am glad they finally figured it out and got her fixed.I can certainly understand why those earrings would be very special to you.I pick out a lot of my jewelry but pieces my husband picks out for me do mean a lot to me.

I sure hope you won’t have to have surgery this spring.Sending lots of PS dust your way on that. The human body is strange and amazing.

We are certainly both alike in wanting the entire suite of gemstones in matching sets.I so have to have the same gemstone earrings, rings, bracelet and pendant.

Take care.

Marcy my jewelry twin, you are certainly an inspitation on losing weight! Your weight loss journey is amazing and makes mine look paltry in comparison. Thank you so much for the dust! I''m hoping like heck that the hole is closed once and for all.

PS, I love your new highlights!

Me too Michelle. You know, I think of you every single day. I just want that darn hole to close.

We love our special Michelle.

Me too; I have you in my prayers sweet friend!

You are so awesome; you are very admirable for the work you do in helping cats!!!

Aww thanks my friends!! I''ll know one way or another on April 15th.

Soo...I think this thread needs some more pictures! I love your little ferret friend. I''ve never really been exposed to them, and I always hear how stinky they are.

I think your hubby sounds like a pretty wonderful guy, and I love the way you guys met!

And you guys are HAWT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ha freke, ferrets are very fun but they poop like no other! What pictures are you wanting? More ferret?

Whatever you want to share! Jewelry, furry friends, pics of your house, more of you guys and your family, anything!!!

Thanks Sharon!

Freke, here''s a picture of the front of my house last summer and this is usually where you will find me, drinking coffee or reading. I could spend the entire day and evening on my front porch watching the world go by.

Here''s another one for you Freke.....

We like to decorate a lot at Xmas and we actually have a reputation on our block. We try and do it differently each year. Here''s our house last xmas.

Wow, your house and your garden and porch are beautiful!!! It looks so inviting; I would totally sit there all day

I love your flowers! Awww, your family is so beautiful!!! Love the pictures!!!

Wow! I''m so jealous of your flowers AND your snow! We get a lot of flowers (although some are dingy looking, being that we''re in the desert and all) but rarely any snow. I''m so jealous! I just want to dive into your picture and build a snowman!!!!

And you guys have a beautiful family! Can you tell us more about them?

Thanks Skip! I love my front porch and gardening. I''ll have to dig up some more photos of some of my other gardens.

Freke, you mean like this one? My hubby built this one for me Xmas Eve morning after I had mentioned that it would be so cool to go out and build a snowman. I love my guy!

I have to go out right now but I''ll be back later.

Freke,

My oldest child is my daughter and she will be 25 in May. She is the typical type A personality. She developed a love of softball at a very early age and became a very good pitcher. As a matter of fact she still holds the state high school record for number of wins in class 4A softball. She went through college on a softball scholarship and despite the numerous medical issues [that''s a whole nuther post in and of itself] did very well. She now holds a full time job working for Pactiv in their auditing department. At the same time she is the head JV softball coach for her old high school, head softball coach for a travel 18U team and gives private pitching, catching and hitting lessons in her spare time. Yeah, needless to say she''s very busy. My son on the other hand is the exact opposite and he prides himself on that fact. He''s 21 and on the 30 year plan for college. He''s very laid back [hmmm lazy?]. He takes a semester of college then works for a semester or two, then goes back to school. He really will be 30 before he finishes. He''s a "Chuck" without the spy stuff. Very intelligent, can take apart a computer and rebuild it like nothing. He''s up on any of the software. Currently he works for Staples as their computer fix-it guy and is planning on going back to school this fall. He''s majoring in computer science.

Awww!!! I love your snowman guy!!! One time it snowed here and there was just enough snow for me to build 5 tiny snowmen in a row on our wall (the snow on the ground melted). I think their heads were about the size of golf balls. I love snow...

And your garden is AMAZING. You just don''t see anything like that around here. We hardly get any green stuff at all.

And I''m not going to graduate school until I''m 27 for sure, and possibly even 28. So your son is in good company!!!

Do you have any pictures of them when they were younger? (I like pictures, if you couldn''t tell!)

Here''s a bad one I had in my computer. Urrrrgh! My scanner has decided that today is the day it is giving up the ghost so no more younger pictures until I get a new scanner.

Awww!!! So cute!!!!! I love Christmas pictures!!!

And stupid scanner!!!
