MrsS my dad has said there have been a few deliveries in their car in front of the hospital
32.gif
I guess it is better than the side of the road but still....yikes!

Momma, good luck trying to keep it a surprise. Hopefully your DH will accept this. Luckily my DH didn''t care either way and left the decision up to me. Did you find out with your first?

So I know I have mentioned my LOVE for Old Navy baby clothes. Just wanted to share they are having a 25% off sale on baby/kids stuff. For a brief crazy second I thought about going hog wild and returning the opposite sex clothes (since they give you 90 days). I held back (thought it was hard). I got the cutest, cozy gray fleece one piece (not sure what you call it but it has feet and a hood). I figure it would be PERFECT for our Ohio trip during x-mas since it gets SOOOOO cold there. I also HAD to get a halloween onesie. I got newborn size and hopefully my baby will be here by then!!!! I just couldn''t ignore baby''s first holiday even if it will only be days old. They had the cutest maternity jacket/sweater thing but I couldn''t justify it since I live in the south and it doesn''t get cold until mid/late november. My mind is such mush though. I had a gift card AND a $10 bonus card (I have their CC) and forgot to use both!
20.gif
Oh well I KNOW I''ll be back for more. Thank goodness their stuff is cheap otherwise I would be broke. I am still debated on if I need another pair of jeans (the ones I have are the SAME ones from my first trimester and I constantly have to pull them up). Is 7 weeks worth it???

Diver, this is so fun going through this with you! I think I joined the boards right after Irish and Curly had their girls (?), so you''re the first one that I''ve witnessed really go through all this -- yaaaay! You''re like a mentor to us all newbies here
2.gif

Mommabear, I live in the "i need to eat and I NEED IT NOW" phase! Welcome to my world.

So we were in full-on baby mode this am. Went to a baby furniture warehouse, and Tacori, I kept thinking of you because they had Munire furniture (love it!) and Best Chair chairs (love ''em!). We need to go back tomorrow actually to order a chair b/c we need to take a couch cushion with us to match a fabric to it. I''m getting a "big girl" chair, so hopefully I can nurse the two babes at the same time in it. We''re going for the rocker recliner one -- really comfy, and I won''t have to deal with getting around an ottoman when I get up from the chair with the babies. Diver, I was talking to the woman there about strollers and she was saying that the Bobs rock.

We then went to Ikea, and I think we''re going to get our dresser for the nursery there. The birch totally matches our cribs, and we just don''t want to spend a lot of money on furniture right now. Once they get their own rooms, we can get better stuff, but for now, to hold onesies and little bitty socks, Ikea will do. I just want to gussy it up with some wicked cute knobs
21.gif
Oh, and PB Kids sells finials in the green gingham so I think we may get those too. It''s coming together so cute in my head!

Aaaaand, I was able to find our exact crib online -- and on clearance for $199.99 (marked down from $320!)
36.gif
So we ordered that! So crib today, hopefully the chair tomorrow, and dresser once we decide how to set up the room and paint it. We''re finally getting somewhere!!!

Hope you''re all having a good weekend! Diver, even though I really want you to hold out till the 17th, I suppose I''ll forgive Delaney if she arrives a little sooner
2.gif

OK, naptime for me. Going out for a veerrrry mellow "bachelorette party" tonight, so this mama needs a nap.

Ella, did you pick out your fabric? My fabric has grown on me. We didn't the matching ottoman. I figure if I really want one later I can get a cheapo from target or something. I bet you saw some beautiful stuff. I wanted to do like 5 different nurseries when I saw all the options. Can't wait to see pics once you get everything together. Have fun tonight!

ETA: I forgot to tell you my brother's b-day is 9/17 so it is a very good day indeed (if she waits that long).

I did find out with my first child.
since it was our first, my 1st husband and i wanted to know.
we both were thinking it was going to be a girl but when we
found out it was going to be a boy, we had to think of a boy name
face9.gif

i''m so excited... i already bought some maternity clothes.
my girlfriend sold me some 7''s maternity jeans ($20!) and i LOVE them
just can''t justify getting another pair at full price.

Just doing a quick drive by and will write more later but I wanted say YAY DIVER!!! It sounds like you''re getting close. My contractions were totally abnormal and irregular, I never got into the pattern that they tell you about. Mine were 2 minutes apart lasting about 30-45 seconds and it went on like that for about 3 hours before I couldn''t breathe through them anymore and went to the hospital where my water broke. It won''t be long now for you--can''t wait for an update!

35.gif
Hi Dani! I wish you had made that trip across the river to be my nurse!

Hope everyone''s doing well. I''ll be back later to check up on all you lovely preggos!

wow, i can''t believe it''s been more than a year since i posted on this thread. i guess it''s about time i come forward and introduced myself instead of always interjecting comments every now and then. i''ve been a long time lurker on this forum even before i finally registered and started posting. gosh, i''ve probably read through so many of your posts. i''ve followed some of you ladies from the engagement to wedding and now to starting a family. i feel like such a eavesdropper at times since i''m just quietly reading and learning about your lives. ^_^ anyway, a bit about myself. a year ago, i started posting here because we was having infertility issue. i promised Kaleigh (hehe, i doubt she still remembers me) that i''d keep her posted with what happened. i apologized if this is a bit long.

anyway, my husband and i had been trying to conceive for the longest time. you''d think i''d do something after a year of no result. nah, being the procrastinator that i am, i dillydallied for 3.5 years before i finally decided to get off my lazy butt and go see a doctor to see if there was something wrong with us. i am a bit on the skinny side, but i doubt it was interfering with my ovulation since my period was pretty regular. my husband thought otherwise. i guess you can say both of us went through the phase of finger pointing (a good way to start arguments in a relationship). so after posting on here, i made an appointment with my primary care physician back in 9/06. she misdiagnosed me and said that i am suffering from hypothyroidism after running a blood test. she chastised me for taking a prenatal vitamin because i''m not pregnant, so told me to not take it and come back for another blood test. second blood test still indicates that my thyroid is still on the lower range, but she referred me to an endocrinologist anyway. the endocrinologist said that my thyroid is on the lower side, but it shouldn''t interfere with my ovulation since my prolactin was normal. he put me on a low dosage of thyroid med for a month and basically try and see. i used up my med and decided that these two doctors don''t know jack, so i dropped them and switch insurance company. fortunately for me, my company offer one health insurance plan that covers infertility treatment. for any ladies out there who are having infertility issue, make sure your insurance covers 100% for infertility because the tests can be pretty costly. so i switched plan and dillydallied for a couple of months
15.gif
. finally by april 07 i called and schedule an initial consultation with the infertility specialist. he ordered a slew of bloodwork for me and verified that all my hormones (estrogen, progesterone, prolactin, thyroid, and what have you) are where they should be and i have a good clean bill of health. my husband''s sa come back good as well (for which he was more than ecstatic because i can no longer finger point him
41.gif
). poor guy, had to put up with my bitching and moaning months after months when my AF appear. anyway, the doc then scheduled a HSG (dye test for look at your fallopian tubes) in may 07. that test confirmed that i had one blocked tube and one severely swollen tube. he attested that it''s likely be a result of endometriosis since i did have heavy periods when i was younger. followinng that i had a laparoscopy (an outpatient surgery) set up at the end of june to hopefully rectify the blocked tubes. the doctor didn''t guaranteed anything, but advised that it be done. so i went back for my post-op appt with the doctor back in july and he told me the surgery was a success. he was able to clear both tubes and there was definite flow through them. being that i am 35, he suggested that i go on clomid and tried IUI (intrauterine insemination). i wanted to try a couple of month naturally first before giving clomid a go. so i scheduled a future appointment with him for september for the clomid and IUI. anyway, i just went in yesterday for my appointment. let me tell you gal there is nothing more tear-jerking than when we saw our little "peanut" moved on the ultrasound
9.gif
hehe....so yes, we are expecting our first child due in april 11th 2008.

Momma, I try not to spend too much on one item since they are temp clothes. My Old Navy jeans were only $25 a piece (I have two pairs). I did buy a $40 shirt for my shower but hey, I felt justified! I am still wearing a few non-maternity shirts (the styles are so great for us preggos right now) but like Diver and I talked about I am starting to get the "Homer Belly" and it is NOT cute!

Curly, always good to see you check in! I know we all love hearing about Lily.

I already added you to the list! I just couldn''t help myself. Congrats to you and your husband. It is so nice to hear your story had a happy ending and I am sure you are an inspiration for those having trouble. I hope you have a wonderful pregnancy. April is a great month (diamond as the birthstone) haha!

lili, your story is so inspiring. i'm sure many women will gain some encouragement by reading it. Our due dates are only 1 day apart and I much prefered being pregnant over the winter than I did over the summer with my 2nd. April is a great month and tacori is right, gotta love that diamond is the birthstone for your future mother's ring/necklace/earrings

diver, I hope you're feeling ok..hope you check back in with us, or if you're MIA for a couple of days we'll all have a pretty good idea where you disappeared too..thinking of you girl....

. seriously though, I feel so bad for you gals that are in the 3rd trimester when it's 100 degrees outside. i was still in my second trimester the summer I was pregnant and was just HOT all time. even this year I'm soooo looking forward to fall and cooler temps, my body temp just runs high when i'm pregnant and i'm always hot. anyway, won't be too much longer for you now and the weather should be breaking soon even in NC so the last weeks might be a little more pleasant for you..

we haven't moved yet, but will be moving to Knoxville, hopefully sooner than later. I told DS once we get settled we should all try to meet up in Asheville. hopefully, i'll have my ring by then and you'll have your baby so we can show them off

MrsS I would LOVE to meet you. DS and I can carpool. I guess Baby T might have to come too. Hmmm...not sure how that would work. Maybe I would have to come the next time when baby is older and can stay with daddy.

I was so jealous when I saw the maternity cords and cute sweaters. Ah, well. Financially this is actually the PERFECT time to have a baby. It saves us a lot of money if I can get preggo and have the baby in the same calender year so I just remind myself of that. I am ALWAYS hot too. I seriously forgot what it is like to be cold.

It was 95 degrees here today....arrggg....

some of the fall materinty clothes are really cute. not sure exactly what i''m going to get this time. when i was pregnant with my first, i knew i was having at least a second and justified some of my spending. i bought a lot of classic solid colored shirts/turtlenecks etc which worked with both pregnancy''s. I did buy a few babydoll shirts on clearance this weekend just to get though the next weeks. my tummy is sticking out a bit and i look like i''ve gained a few lbs in my regular teeshirts, but the babydoll stuff hides it pretty well. My aunt sent me a box of her maternity clothes (smart women kept all hers) and there is some cute things in there. My other aunt told me she used a rubberband to hold her jeans when she could no longer button them just so she could wear them longer. that''s not a half bad idea that i will probably try too...

MrsS that is why I heart Old Navy. Guilt free spending (well, almost)! I was so bloated I was wearing maternity pants pretty early. Now really only my (maternity) sweats are really comfortable
23.gif
Not sure how I am going to get through 7 more weeks! I might have to break down and buy one more pair of (larger) pants....

well, since you guys know you''ll be having at least one more, might be worth it to buy a comfy pair for your final weeks.

I bought most of my stuff at old navy too. they had just started coming out with maternity at the time and i was so excited. i love that they sell the no panel jeans now too. i hated the panal on the pants and would actually push them down below my belly. they itched me or felt tight or whatever, i just never liked them. i''ll be ordered some of those pretty soon...

Yeah you are right MrsS. The jeans I bought have a 2" panel. I think they are comfy but I def. not an XS anymore.

Carseat question:
I always thought it went behind your seat (obviously rear facing) but now I am hearing it should be rear facing in the MIDDLE seat. What does everyone think???

I still haven''t had a chance to catch up on the entire thread.

My due date is April 14, 2008. That''s a week or two later than my guess was, but for now I''ll give the benefit of doubt to the doctor and the length of the baby. That means that Mrs. S, lili, and I are all within days of each other.

So far I have outgrown almost all of my clothes without gaining a pound, deodorant doesn''t seem to be working as well, hair is growing in random places (belly, chin), and I have more gas than I thought was possible. Please tell me this is normal.

Normal Rebot! My hair is so much greasier (not to mention my skin) I had to switch shampoos. I also sweat more. My friend switched to men''s deodorant when she was preggo. Mine hasn''t gotten *that* bad but I noticed a difference. Just wait. The gas and random hair growth gets worse. I lost 3 lbs in the begining and was STILL so bloated my belly looked larger. I think in the begining it is a lot of water weight. How many weeks are you? I am too lazy to figure it out based on your due date

Sperm can live in your body for up to 72 hours PLUS you could have ovulated later so I would trust your doc.

diver, how exciting! Good luck!

lili, thanks for sharing your story. I am so happy to hear you''re pregnant! Congratulations!!!

lili mentioned that her doctor chastised her for taking a prenatal vitamins before she''s pregnant, which made me wonder when are you suppose to start taking prenatal vitamins? I thought a few months before getting pregnant is good. Can taking prenatal vitamins for a long period of time before you''re pregnant be bad for you?

Snlee my doc told me to take it when TTC (and breast feeding). I know SDL took it to help her hair grow for her wedding. I can''t see WHY it would be bad for you if you take it alone (without any other multi vit.) You could talk to your doctor if you are worried.

Tacori, thanks for adding me :) i was going to hold off telling my story until the second trimester, but i couldn''t resist after seeing all these wonderful ladies with about the same edd as me
1.gif
hehe, i know. maybe i can finagle hubby to getting me a bigger diamond for a combined push, baby''s birthstone, and anniversary present. lol.

i know Mrs.S. maybe we''ll go into labor the same day. sorry Tacori, but i couldn''t agree with Mrs.S more about being pregnant over the winter. the good thing about being preggo in the summer though is that they wear the cutest preggo summer outfits. anyway, hubby is especially happy that the baby is due in april because football season will be done and over with
3.gif
haha, kidding aside, spring is a good time because the temperature is just right for both mommy and baby.

thank you Lisa. we are esctatic. we didn''t think that it could happen so soon, basically one month after my surgery.

yay Rebot. join the club. there are quite a number of us within week of each other.

snlee, thank you. regarding the prenatal vitamin, i don''t know what that first doctor was thinking. i didn''t read anywhere on the variious site about the danger of taking prenatal too early. i compared the vitamin breakdown of the prenatal with the women''s 1 day and they are both about the same with the exception of a slightly higher iron for the prenatal. the fertility specialist recommended that i start taking it even before we started the fertility treatment. hope you join us soon
1.gif

i''ll be on here asking more questions later.
i am scheduled for a few prenatal tests for the "advanced" preggo.
thanks everyone for the well wishes.

lili, I waited until 6 weeks (after my first u/s) to tell my PS friends. I just felt better once we heard the HB. I found out I was preggo REALLY early so I understand what a hard wait it is. I think an upgraded diamond is a GREAT idea

I came back to check on diver too!!! Where is she??? Is Delaney here?!?!?! I can''t wait to hear what happened!

lili, what an amazing story. I am so happy you shared it and so thrilled that you are pregnant!!! Congratulations, enjoy every minute of it!!!!!

Rebot, ah yes, there are so many fun things that await you including major GAS! I was horrified at the amount of gas I was passing and it was pretty gross too! The hair growth thing is freaky too. I got some on my belly but my leg hair and bikini hair grew at a snail''s pace--I barely had to shave my legs whereas I used to do it every day before getting pregnant. To me, the worst things were the hot flashes and heartburn, hopefully those won''t find you! Great due date too. I''m so excited for all of you that are having spring babies, it''s such a wonderful time of year--I had mine in May!

Tacori, regarding the carseat, it should face the back as you know and it should ideally be in the middle but if that''s not possible, then it should go behind the passenger side, not the driver side. At least that''s what we were told. My mom had the police department install it in her car, you might want to have a professional do it or check it for you.

Curly, I was just surprised about it being in the middle. I would think it would be more dangerous since the carseat could fly through the windshield. But I guess it you hit in the side the middle would be safer. Hmmm...we could do either.

the carseat should be rear facing and in the middle.
When I was pregnant with Aiden, i took my carseat
to the CHP because I couldn''t install it myself (8 mnths preggers)
the CHP will do it for free. Just call you local office and found out
the scheduling. It''s a great service and a peice of mind :)
i''m not going to splurge on any one item. i love old navy too! i just
got a package in the mail from them hehehehe gotta love the $5 shipping!

LILLI
your story gave me chills and made me teary.
i am so happy for you. It''s an amazing thing, being able to have children
and i''m so glad you are able to! HURRAY!

DIVER..
where are you? hope all is well. when i went in for my weekly check up with
Aiden, the doctor asked me how long had I been having contractions, when
did they start, etc. My response: what contractions? so she induced me
19.gif

REBOT
hahaha this is funny. i have to tell you, i never wear deoderant. never needed to.
but right before i found out i was preggo, i was running for it! and gas... oh my. DH
was like, "you fart? never knew you could." hahahaha
41.gif
i''ve been waking up
before the sun comes out, for no apparent reason. i think it''s part of my symptoms.

SNLEE
with my first baby, I went to have a pre preggo check up. i told them i wanted to
conceive, etc. and they gave me a prenatal pill RX and tons of samples, etc...
you totally need to boost up! i don''t think it could be bad for you unless you OD''d

our van doesn''t have a middle, well it does in the 3rd row but no way i''m climbing back there each and everytime we go somewhere. I put the car seat on the passengers side. I always hated that first year when they are facing backwards and you can''t really see what''s going on. i can''t tell you how many times i stopped the car just to check on them to make sure they were ok..

diver, glad things settled down for you but so excited at how close you are. thanks for checking in..
