Sarah: can't wait to see it! And scoore on the clothes! Awesome!
NEL: we have discussed a labor filled labor day...it would be great, since its an extra day off :) AND labor day is our dog Buddys birthday :)

Don't have the energy to write much more. Went grocery shopping today for the first time in forever so if I have this kid we at least have food. Also had a craaaaaaazy busy day at work. Makes me look foward to my time "off" even more!

And Ill ask Elledizzy if she will post a note letting you all know the baby arrived if I go AWOL for a few days so youarent in suspense too long since we are friends on a site to not be named ;-)

Finally catching back up!

LC- Yay for finalizing babymoon plans! Sounds like it should be a fun trip! How far along will you be when you go? I've never been so I can't be of much help, but I'm sure just time away is enough to make the trip awesome! Glad your friend is stabilized! Sticky dust!!! You look fantastic in your 14 week pic!! So cute!! Sorry you missed out on whirly ball, we have a few whirly ball places around here and it is SO fun! Being pregnant can be kind of a bummer at times! I also had a sweet, but not chocolate, tooth! Weird! I thought it was insane since before PG, I LOVED chocolate!

IHA - DH just started a new job, so I can't ask him to take time off to sit with me at the 3 hour, unfortunately. Blargh! Happy Due Date!! Hope Liam decides to make his debut pretty soon here! :)

Charbs - I am actively stalking your unnamed site page, and will be happy to share with the group when I get some news!

NEL - You are so cute and tiny in your 13 week pic! I miss my body! Ha! Glad your MS is starting to subside, even if you are more hormonal. If its not one thing, its another, I swear! Hope your power comes back on soon, I'd be MISERABLE without it!!

PT - Sorry about the pelvic/bed rest. What a bummer :( Glad you've been comfy so far, but yeah, that really is no fun! On the up side, you look adorable! Congrats on the new car! We'll be looking at the Outback this fall since we also need a new (read: bigger) vehicle! I'm not into American cars (Yes, I'm from the Detroit area - shoot me!) So it'll likely be Subaru, Honda, Mazda, or Nissan for us!

Sarah - Glad you're doing well!

Katy - Glad you got some great deals at Motherhood! I got a ton of stuff too! What an AWESOME sale!! YAY for a good NT scan!!! So happy for you to be out of the closet, but I don't think I've seen any site-that-shall-not-be-named posts yet! Just letting it come it out when it does?

Phoenix - Welcome to the big thread!! Glad after everything, you finally feel like you can relax a bit! Just hang on for 2nd tri! :)

Pancake- Those definitely sound like BH! Make sure you're well hydrated, that will help keep BH away! Yay for flutters!! So exciting!

Janine - Yay for 33 weeks! Boo to no power, and basement flood. Ugh. How miserable.

AFM - Doing OK. Starting to get more and more uncomfortable by the day. By 8 PM I am just DONE. And if i overeat even just the tiniest bit, I am SO MISERABLE. I can't get comfy when I sleep, and my back is killing me every day. WOW that was whiny! My 3 hr GTT is scheduled for next Weds. I am really, really hoping that it clears me of GD. I hate worrying about it! LO has been kicking like CRAZY these past few days! I don't know whats gotten into him but it seems like the kid never sleeps! I am in for it when he's born!

PT, Even if your parents have trouble with the pronunciation, maybe you can have nicknames or cultural names for them, so it'd be easier. I have an official name and also a Chinese name that my grandmother used to call me. She also used to call me "Moi moi" (rhymes with boy) or "A-moi" which is the general Chinese term for "young girl that is related to me."

NEL, Hooray for power!!!! :appl: I totally bought those Bella bands. I'm popped out of 3 work pants and I had to wear them for my shorts I had on after work yesterday. They were super cheap, like $13 each, cheaper than the Target brands. I got buff color and the dark red. I'm totally taking a page out of yours and Janine's book and want to do mini chandelier if we have a girl too! Yeah I'm still thinking we'll need to sort out furniture but first I want to get rid of the desk in the nursery, which means I need to take my monitor (super sweet cinema display) to work. Which I so haven't done yet.

Charbie, labor dust for you and IHA! Totally cute baby bump picture and that comfy outfit looks totally comfy.

Elle, the plan is to go for 5 days, 3 days of hiking and 2 days in Tahoe. Which I still need to book my lodging. Bad trip planner! DH is getting pretty excited about it, so hopefully it'll be worth it. So sorry you're feeling uncomfortable. Hope you have fun car shopping. I'm inclined to just let DH deal with that, since he drives more anyway, but thankfully I don't think we'll need another car. Or at least that's what I'm going to push for.

Off to a meeting. Charbs I have a weekly belly pic that I'll post when I get home tonight. I think I've "popped" but I can still hide it under jumpers/hoodies/sweaters.

NEL - Yay for power! Can't imagine being without.

Elle - I'm not generally into American cars either. It was actually the main reason why I was so hesitant when DH kept pushing the Ford Edge. I was sure I'd end up with a Toyota or Honda (since I'll be the primary driver). But, when it came down to it, DH and I both really liked the Edge. Hopefully we'll still be saying that 10 years from now. :)

Charbie - Hope you're doing well. You look fantastic!

LC - Your trip sounds exciting. I've been itching to go on a hike. Even in our own backyard (we have access to trails from there). But since I'm not really supposed to be on my feet for more than 30ish minutes at a time...

Oh Elle, you asked how far along I'll be during my trip: 19 weeks.

Parrot: Sorry you're restricted from hikes etc. Where do you live, if you don't mind me asking? It sounds pretty sweet to have hiking trails in your backyard, so I'm totally curious.

LC - I live in Marin County (Bay Area). We basically have a park/forest behind our house, so if you walk through our back gate, you'll reach a trail after treading through some overgrown Scotch Broom for less than a minute. DH took this picture a month or two ago from a hike we took from the backyard - it was after maybe 30 minutes of hiking...?

Hi gals, just checking in briefly from Frankfurt Airport. Long-hauling in economy class whilst pregnant with hip instability = NOT FUN. We have just one short flight to Berlin, and then I plan to crash out and watch Gossip Girl episodes in bed to try and stay awake until a reasonable bedtime. Ugh!

On another note - I went shopping for more new underwear the day before we left. Hello, E cup :(( I actually bought a couple of maternity bras (which may or may not last me until the end of the preg - probably not) which are hideous but I actually really like the maternity singlets I bought - they have a built-in bra with a lightly padded cup and actually look decent.

...Slowly tip-toeing in.

Hi ladies! Yesterday was my birthday and I got the best gift ever which was my BFP!
I have been dealing with IF and under the care of a RE. We were actually waiting to start another provera cycle to do a medicated IUI. My RE was shocked when he saw some growth a few weeks ago and I think he will be pretty shocked some more. I just spoke with the nurse and I have to go in on Tuesday for blood work as I will probably need to use endometrin just to be safe and make this stick, but as 5 tests have said- I am pregnant, approximately 3 weeks!

Even though I was told it was impossible, the heartburn I had all last week was a giveaway! Anyway, I just wanted to say hello!

Just wanted to let you all know I'm still here... and still very much pregnant. I don't think this child has any plans on coming out. Haha. Dr's appt is on Wednesday and we'll be making a plan for induction. I'm truly hoping I go on my own before that has to happen but at this point, I just want him out!

I hope everyone had a great weekend and is doing well!

Elle--Did you do the radioactive iodine treatment for your kitty? I just wanted to say that you should totally do it! We had a kitty (Bootsie) with hyperthyroidism and we went for the daily meds instead and totally regretted it. She lived a wonderful long four plus years after her diagnosis and so the radioactive iodine treatment would have been so much better for her--far less expensive in the long run, and far less traumatic because it's a one-and-done deal, so she wouldn't have had to take those meds DAILY for all those years. I hope your kitty is okay!

Okay, back to lurking . . .

IHA, I've been thinking about you and wondered if you've delivered. I'm glad you're still hanging in there, but hope you'll go into labor before your appt. tomorrow. He must be very comfy in there :)

Sba, I congratulated you over in the TTC thread, but just want to congrats again! And welcome! Sending super sticky dust your way!

Pancake, I hope your flight home was uneventful and comfortable! Have you been catching up on sleep? And and E cup? Wowie zowie, you must feel like your boobs weigh 5 lbs each :) I haven't gotten any maternity bras yet because I'm still growing a little in that region, but I'm planning to get some by my third tri. I'm glad you like the singlets! Those are on my list!

LC, you look fabulous in your 15 week shot! Less than a month before your babymoon, right??

Elle, I'm thinking about you this week, I know your 3-hour test is tomorrow. I'm keeping everything crossed for you that you pass and don't have to worry about GD.

PT, how are you liking the Edge? Have you been driving it over the past week or so? And trails from your back yard are the best. We have a ton of trails near by, but only one we can access from our house and it doesn't have a water source (the others have lakes, rivers or access to the ocean). It's nice to have so many within in a 5 minute drive, but still, it requires the car.

Charbie, you also look fabulous in your 38.5 week picture!! Keeping my fingers crossed that you'll go into labor any minute! :)

AFM, can I just say that I love Gap's maternity t-shirts? I bought one last weekend and have sort of lived in it since. It's super soft. I'm planning to go back this week and buy more--I wanted to go back this weekend, but ultimately decided to avoid the mall altogether during a holidy weekend.

D is back from Norway! YAY!!! We spent the weekend cleaning up the yard and relaxing, which was fabulous!

Hey preggo friends!!!

I hope everyone had a great weekend, and those of us in the States, long weekend.

IHA, sorry Liam hasn't made his grand debut yet. Can you post an eviction notice??? Woo hoo!!! The party's out here!! Hope your appointment goes well. Maybe when Liam here's the induction plans he'll start moving along.

Charbs, Hopefully you got some good news about Baby A making progress. If not a relaxing Labor day weekend.

NEL, So glad D's back. He must think you're a super trooper for putting up with no electricity. Hm, must try out Gap for Maternity. Every now and then BabyCheapskates posts when Gap has sales etc. I'll let you know the next time it comes up. I think avoiding the mall during Labor Day weekend was a wise move.

AFM, back from FL visiting the In-Laws. MIL is doing fantastic, she's home and both she and FIL are getting into a routine. I worry that she'll have trouble filling her days, and might get down, but DH said he'll talk to her. I'm sure it was nice to have company. SIL was down there but left before I arrived, all the better in my opinion. She and her husband did a lot of work getting the house in order though, so it was good that they came down. DH came down on Sunday and will stay until next Sunday. He's helping his folks figure out what car to buy, they need one with a height adjustable passenger seat so MIL can get in and out.

Just got back from my 16 wk appt. I met with the midwife practice today, and I think I like them a lot more than the doctors. So I told DH I want to go with them instead. He's OK with that. I also asked about other allergy meds and she said I can take rhinocort. Woo hoo! I hope it helps with the ragweed. Everyone this weekend felt so bad for me, especially FIL. It was kinda funny.

Oh and my new toy I bought this weekend: Nook Simple Touch, the touch screen Nook. I *love* it. Totally a splurge buy but I've been wanting an e-reader for a while, didn't want a Kindle and really wished the whole Nook screen was touch screen. Tada!!! My sis brought it up and I'm really happy with it so far.

NEL - We love the Edge so far. It drives beautifully, and actually feels more luxury than my sister's Acura MDX! The only issue was that it came with a bum touch screen, which had to be replaced. So glad your husband's home. My favorite thing to do with DH on weekends is just to run a few errands and relax at home. Makes me feel very at peace.

LC - I'm so glad you like your Nook! I left my Kindle on the plane ride to Vegas and have been missing it terribly. I think I need a new e-reader soon.

AFM, at 22 weeks, my cervix was down to a puny little 1cm, when it should be a minimum of 3-4cm. It's still firmly closed, though. I'm strictly seeing the perinatologist now, and ordered on slightly stricter bedrest. No grocery shopping, laundry, errands, or standing for more than 20-30 minutes at a time (hiring a housekeeper is sounding less like a luxury now, and more and more like a practical decision). I have a weekly check-in with a nurse by phone to check in for signs of preterm labor, and have to go in for cervical checks every other week. They gave me a preterm labor lesson and booklet with warning signs to look for, and a breakdown of the chances of survival at different gestation periods, which has me nervous. At this point, I'm a little hesitant to even purchase furniture before we hit the 28 week mark...

Parrot, dust to you for the twins staying happily baking. Hopefully you'll get your house cleaner soon and take a load off. Keep positive in the mean time. It might seem tough with the specialist appointment etc, but it's really important to keep a positive frame of mind.

Oh PT, I'm so sorry you're having to worry about this. I would absolutely hire the housekeeper and your husband can handle the laundry and general straightening-up between cleanings. You need to be on bed rest, mama! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you that everything goes as smoothly as possible from this point on. Poor thing!

LC, glad to hear you're loving the new toy! Now you can download a bunch of baby books, haha. And hoping you get allergy relief soon!

LC, post-Thanksgiving dinner guest, ha! You look great, BTW!

Elle, was your glucose test today? Hope you got the results you wanted!

PT, what a beautiful view! Sorry about the upping of your bedrest. You definitely do need a housekeeper - don't feel bad about it!

Pancake, very impressed with your long travel! Hope the trip has been lots of fun and you didn't overdo it with too many sausages!

sba, congrats!!!!! :appl:

Inhisarms, what's the word from your appt?

AFM, I had a checkup with my new cardiologist today. Everything looks good, except get this. She must have been looking at my chart with my updated weight because she walked into the room and said, "So . . . we've turned you into a fatty!" A FATTY?!?!?! Who says this to a pregnant woman? I've gained over 10 pounds so far, but I did with my first pregnancy too. I just consistently gain at least a pound a week for the whole pregnancy. Plus I'm on a beta blocker that causes weight gain (maybe that is what her comment was directed towards? I hope?) and there were, you know, several weeks where I was on bedrest and unable to move, let alone exercise. My mom and sister both gained at least 45 pounds with each pregnancy (I gained 48 with the first), but I was back to a size 2 (or 0 on a good day - remember these are the new vanity US sizes so like 6/4 UK) when I got pregnant. I mean, hopefully this was partly why she felt comfortable "joking" like this with me? But yeesh.

So I said, well, I gained 48 pounds with my first pregnancy, this is normal for me. She said she had another pregnant patient today who said the same thing, that she gained 50 pounds. Then the cardio said, "Well, you both obviously lost it, so I guess it's OK." Um, thanks. I guess I won't cry all the way to my car after our appointment now. (Don't worry, I didn't . . . I'm pretty stoic and far removed from the opinions of strangers, but it was just so ridiculous I had to vent!)

In general, things are a lot better. I've been doing moderate workouts every other day and walking a ton. At first I would get dizzy while walking (and if we were stuck a mile away from home, the mile home would not be fun), but I'm building up a tolerance. Also, the doc pointed out that the weather is cooler now, and I think that helps too. I'm hopeful that the second trimester will indeed be a honeymoon for me!

40w5d: Well, Dr's appt today was okay. I am about 1-2cm dilated. Dr estimated the baby at about 8 pounds. Had to have an ultrasound to check and make sure everything is still good. Ultrasound estimated 9lbs 1oz... it could go a pound either way but holy crap! He's gonna be big! Waiting on the Dr to call and see if our plans are gonna be changed but as of right now, next appt is Monday and we'll schedule the induction for by the end of next week.

Oh and he is definitely still a boy!

Thanks for the well wishes and checking in on me... I'll keep you all updated as much as possible. Hopefully the next time I post will be the birth announcement of my little Liam!

I haven't gotten a chance to read through so forgive me for another me-centric post... I hope you are all doing well!

Ah!! IHA, sorry Liam is being so stubborn. Wow oh wow, he's going to be a big baby!!!!

Elle, hope you swing by with an update on your glucose test.

PhG, Yikes, your new cardo has a weirdo sense of humor. But I can see how she's joking but it just comes out wrong. Maybe she's just one of those really awkward people. I've done the whole foot-in-mouth thing from time to time so I give people the benefit of doubt. And 10 lbs in 10 wks I think is fine. I wouldn't worry yet. Plus you have your previous pregnancy as a benchmark.

Oh yeah, a few things from this weekend:

1) I found out from MIL that DH was a big baby over 8 lbs! :errrr: I told him I wish I knew this ahead of time. Ha ha.

2) My mom was telling me how in China, 60% of pregnant women have high blood sugar before their 2nd tri. Now, this might be my mom's statistics, mind you, but suffice it to say, it's a lot. Probably because their families cram food down their throat. My mom actually started down this path when I first told her I was pregnant. She said "You need to keep eating throughout the day. Make sure you're always snacking since you need to gain weight for the baby." Uh... NO. If I have M/S then I'd give that some merit, but eating just to eat is definitely NOT the right course. I finally told her, "No my doc said I'm eating just fine, and everyone's healthy. I'm not going to eat any more than I am now. The baby's so tiny it's barely costing energy." She finally gets it now. Score one for me!

3) I told my mom about our Yosemite trip (2 wks away! Hooray!) and she was like, "Don't go hiking and walking too much!" So I just lied and told her we were just chilling and taking in the sites. Which isn't entirely a lie. We are, but that's after we hiked and walked to the sites. Ha ha!

Quickly, before I catch up sometime today:

All clear on the OGTT!! Woohoo! I'm so relieved! My numbers looked great, not even a close call or anything.

Also - No FB status updates from Charbie since Tuesday evening... hmmm... I'm curious if she's in labor, or just torturing me!

ETA: False alarm, I'm seeing FB activity! Apparently I'm not good at stalking...

Elle, just want to say "woohoo!!" for you! I'm so, so glad you passed and can put the worry behind you! And very interesting that Charbie hasn't been around for a couple of days now. Hmmmm.

LC, D's mom is from the Philipinnes and is constantly trying to feed me when I'm at his parents' house. It's really sweet, but I have to keep telling her "trust me, my doc wants me to STOP gaining weight!"

PhG, I can't believe your doc used the term "fatty"! My doc has been on my case as well because I gained 10 pounds by 14 weeks. I'm hoping I start gaining less now that I'm less sick and thus am not eating as often. I'm eating healthy foods and I'm back to a "normal" eating schedule, but sometimes I just feel like I'm going to gain what I gain no matter what.

IHA, glad to hear that you're starting to dilate, that's exciting! I'm hoping that the baby weight is overestimated by a pound :) Thanks for keeping us updated!

No news here. One good thing: I've made a lot of decisions about things on the "to buy" list so once we know the sex, I'll just choose the colors I want. One bad thing: I've spent way to much time online researching everything under the sun. Anytime a coworker walks by, I'm researching baby stuff.

Elle, woo hoo! Congrats on passing the test. Sorry you had to go through the whole rigmarole for a false positive, but hooray for passing the 3 hr! Keep us posted on any news from Mrs. Charbie.

NEL, so funny that your MIL keeps trying to feed you. Wow, cool you researched everything you want to get. I think right now the only thing I want to buy is the long-term stuff: furniture (crib, dresser), stroller, baby carrier, high chair (later), big car seat (not infant). Everything else I would like to borrow if I can. Hopefully some of my friends will have some. Oh the other thing I want to buy is cloth diapers, I think my DH is kinda on-board with that, but we'll see.

Haha, im here. Just haven't had the chance to post since im suffering from allergies and exhausted. Work is kicking my a$$, trying to make sure I leave no loose ends at the end of each day.

Ill write a proper post later. I suffered a total mental breakdown after my appt on Tuesday when I had no cervical changes. I am a very rational person under normal circumstances. There is no reason to believe this baby should come early, and I repeat alll day long to the million people who ask me where the baby is that it isn't my due date yet, most babies are born after 40my weeks, etc. But I lost it. Im constantly having contractions, yet no dialation, WTF? I finally came to peace and relaxeed, but whew, I hate these hormones.

My awesome hubster sent me an email later that day, after I had called him hysterically crying, that showed the full moon schedule. Sept 12 (due date) is a full moon. He assured me that little Aubs is waiting to come out then at the latest...apparently his boss told him the wives tale that babies are born mmore frequently under full moons. Love that man!

Sorry Charbie, these last days/weeks can be tough. Just take solace in the fact that she WILL be here soon and you will forget all the annoying waiting. And how awesome that your hubby is being great through all this.

NEL/LC: I can't believe how far along you guys are! And YAY for LC popping, woohoo. NEL looks great too...and tiny!

IHA: Can't believe you are still baking! Hope you get some action this weekend - maybe try some spicy food and BD'ing....old wives tales but you never know :).

Elle: Yay on passing the test..there are SO many false positives on this test it seems.

PHG: I have steadily gained 1lb a week from day one. Sometimes I wish I did have MS to stave off the lbs but of course I'm just being facetious ;-). Luckily no docs have given me a hard time. I hear that the smaller you are the more you gain, so I like to keep thinking that.

AFM: 34 weeks and starting to feel uncomfy, but still going about usual stuff. I'm nervous to stop in case I get tired and there's still things to be done! DD's bday is in a few weeks and I want to throw her a big bash - but since I will be 36 wks at that point, not so sure I should be doing this.

Oh and I'm at the stage where people randomly shout things at me on the street (in NYC). Same thing happened last time around! Things like "God Bless you and your baby"...or the ever popular random "It's A BOY!". I get that alot and did last time too - from random strangers--while I'm just walking and minding my business. And it's a girl! Went to Duane Reade yesterday where the checkout girl said "you look like you're about to POP! It's a boy right?". As I came into work after that a colleague said "any day now, right?". I can't bring myself to say "uh, 6 more weeks" so I just say, "soon, a few weeks.". Fun times.

Charbie, it's true about the full moon. Even my mid-wife has stated it SEVERAL times. Hang in there... it WILL happen.

40w6d quick update: I think my little one will be making an appearance either tonight or tomorrow. Been having contractions for 2 hours now at 8 min apart. Woke up this morning with some cramping which has come and gone throughout the day and I've felt nauseous and yet starving at the same time. Weird. Anyway, I hope this is it! This is the first time I've had any sort of timeable contractions. And as far as the pain, I wouldn't say that I have any. When it starts it's in my lower back and then it gets tight on the underside of my belly and then it gets really tight and rides like a wave all up and throughout my stomach. They are more irritating than anything as I can feel them getting tighter and tighter with each one that comes. It's making my stomach sore. Anyway, wish me luck!!

IHA!! Oh my gosh, regular contractions! So exciting, I'm sending you tons and tons of dust that this is it and that everything goes well!

Janine, it's sort of hilarious that you have strangers giving you unsolicited advice and opinions. It's like the belly is an invitation enough. You're in the final weeks!

Charbie, a mental breakdown is completely understandable, but it's super sweet that your husband sent you the full moon info. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you're right behind IHA!

IHA!!! Hooray for Liam making progress!!! Hopefully he'll continue along his merry way. Like they say, the best things come to those who wait, and you've waiting *long enough* mama!!!

Charbs, HUGS to your mini-breakdown. Your DH sounds fantastic for helping assuage your emotions. How awesome Baby A is due on a full moon! Dust to you, hon!!!

Janine, I'd get pretty annoyed with the "open invitation" for strangers' opinions. Yup, that's exactly what I wanted. You're much more patient than I would be. Hope your DD's party is fun. I say go with it, but delegate the help to everyone you can. :) DH, your folks, any guest that says, "Janine, can I get that for you?" (Even if they're just saying it to be polite). "Absolutely! Here you go!" Ha ha!

AFM: Just told my boss today. Was going to tell my boss & director, but the director called our meeting short, so c'est la vie. Anyway, I think that's all the news I have.
