hiya

My band is 1.75ctw, 5 x 0.35ct, G, VS2 and I bought it already made up. I am a size L finger which is 5.5 or 5.75 US I think. I opted for the 5 stone over the full eternity because I would probably have lost a diamond or two from banging my hand and I don''t see the point in having diamonds underneath when I can''t see them. I wanted bigger stones rather than smaller/lots of stones.

I''ve been really lucky as each of the stones is perfect and they are pretty much identical. I am such a lover of emerald cuts and asscher cuts because I love the angles and was always aware that if an ec isn''t cut well then it can be pretty dull so I made sure that the cut was the most important aspect and I''m tickled pink with my sparkly diamonds.

Seriously, if the sun is shining and hits my hand when I''m driving, it can be pretty dangerous as it blinds me........my hubbie said i''m being over-dramatic (hee hee). So my advice to you is focus on the cut of your stones.

Keep me posted with whatever you decide as the EC appreciation society must stick together!!

Thanks for the info Po. I am on the lookout for a five stone band but I prefer the style like yours with all the stones the same size. I found one at Facets which is known for having well cut stones however, the stones are a little large. I am going to contact them and see how much it would be to have one made up with stones around .25 - .30 each.

As for the cut issue, I agree with you. Cut comes first when choosing EC stones, then claity and lastly color (not that I would want a yellow stone). If they aren''t cut well, then they will look dull. SO TRUE!

After reading information on PS for days now, I am still overwhelmed with all the choices. Even though I found some promising 1.0 carat stones via PS vendors, I am leary about buying one online without looking at it in person. They say the with an EC, let your eyes decide even if it has all the specifications you are looking for. If I went with a five stone band and purchased it from a reputable vendor like Facets, I think I would be just as happy. I am too afraid of getting a larger stone that ends up looking "glassy" which can be a problem with ECs.

I''ll keep you posted on what I decide.

Yes, I like the look of bullets as well however, my stone is currently set with two side trillions, .33 carat each. I think the bullets would be a similar design.

Thanks for your suggestion.

Oh I disagree since bullets are more step cut and long/thin like bags. I think they are so elegant.
