Hi everyone, I am new to this forum. I stumbled across a picture of AGBF's beautiful solitaire under subject "Solitaire ring wraps or enhancers love or hate them?" while looking for an ultra-thin, barely there setting for a round cut diamond.
Does anyone else have an ultra thin, "thread-like" as AGBF described it, ring? AGBF, can you tell me more about yours and what I should ask the jeweler to do? How many mm is your band? What size is your stone? Is the band the same mm all the way around but just tall and narrow at the top?
I have had a couple of jewelers show me wider gold bands than AGBF's and say that it is as small as they can go. One told me that I would have to get platinum because gold is too soft for such a delicate band, but I definitely want yellow gold. How can I describe to them what I want? I love how yours is low profile too. I went to Tiffany's and got the sense they were not pleased that I wanted my stone set down into the band rather than up high. I guess that is a no-no because Tiffany's is a classic and places the diamond in the perfect position. Oops! lol Anyway, anyway, I'm pretty new to this stuff, any help would be appreciated!!!
