No, not yet.....But just how is she going to pay for all these kids?Date: 1/30/2009 8:52:41 AM

At least (as of now) she is not trying to make money off her children!
My question is to the integrity of the fertility doctor that administered treatments to a single woman with 6 living and healthy children under 7 living at home with the support of her parents. I honestly wonder if she has a mental illness.... and question the DR for not recognizing this... was he justDate: 1/30/2009 9:06:36 AM

I'm sorry, this one one of THE most irresponsible things I've ever head. I have no words, that are nice.

FI and I were thinking of all the sports they would never have to try out for... My favorite: They can host their own 7 on 7 football games!!Date: 1/30/2009 8:58:03 AM

Well, that's one soccer team+the three referees. On to the other team now!

ETA: Here''s the yahoo article that has some quotes from the fertility doctor at the bottom.

Well, young women can have problems, although SHE doesn't/didn't seem to. I don't understand why she'd even want any more.Date: 1/30/2009 9:17:56 AM

I agree Ellen. I don't understand why a 'fairly young' woman with 6 kids would be on fertility treatments. Thl brings up a good point about the doctors. Wonder if the father was a donor. No mention of him. Obviously we have no idea about the financial situation of this family. Ed referred to their 'big house.'

I have a bet going with my hubby that the only reason she did this was so that she could get a show on TLC like Jon & Kate +8 or the Duggers or that other weird family with 12 kids. I bet she told the fertility Doc she would split any profits in order to get the treatments. LOL, am I cynical or what?!
Ha! Yes, apparantly so.Date: 1/30/2009 9:46:45 AM

It''s a vagina, ma''am, not a clown car.
ETA: haha, TLH, looks like great minds think alike, I just noticed you posted the same sentiment!
She has 2 yr old twins!!! That should be enought to stop anyone from adding 8 more!!Date: 1/30/2009 10:31:34 AM

I also read the Dr's quote and I feel that he couldn't have done MUCH educationg... or LISTENING for that matter... Let's do the math! Ready, OK!
6 children all under the age of 7. Umm.. lets say 1 a year? ok... it takes 9 months to have a baby? So she waited.... 3-6 months and said, OMG I CAN'T GET PREGNANT!
But wait... She's single... so did she say... please hook me up w/ my sperm popcicle please!
Then they loaded her up full of embreyos like a gumball machine... and then WOWZA, 8 babies later.... and we don't even know if they have CP, or any other birth defects.
I really find this whole thing a shame. I don't care HOW many babies you WANT to have, when you load your belly up like that... you jeapardize those children coming out UNHEALTHY, with DEFORMITIES, and some may not even make it. Seems like someone needs to be responsible...and less selfish. I also think that she wasn't raising those 6 children ALONE. Her parents were helping... and how is she able to take care of/insure these babies? John Q Taxpayer? I don't know...
OK... Sorry. My point is...TO THE DOCTOR how much educating can you do with someone who has just been trying... WITHOUT A PARTNER! For 3-6 months. (It would take me that long, umm if I were still single, to find A DATE!) I dont call that trying to have a baby. And at 20-40K for fertility treatments, I highly suspect MONEY was a motive.
Focker OUT!
I agree. I think it''s fairly safe to say all three have some issues.Date: 1/30/2009 10:44:40 AM

I think the article said 7, 6, 5, 4, 2, and 2. But I could be mistaken, one child may be 3 instead of 5.
Does anyone else not agree that the parents are huge enablers here? This is not all the doctors fault. She has 2 other people that are willing to do anything to help. Talk about missing a few crayons... Why in the world would they think this is a good idea??

It is just beyond irresponsible...on both the doctor and woman''s side. She can''t even support the 6 she already has, why would she want to add to her struggles? And what man is going to want to take on a wife and 14 children? Unless she makes some kind of money off of it that is. Some people need help and the doctor needs to take a hard look at himself for agreeing to this nonsense.
I find this whole situation with this woman to be appalling. It was one thing when they said *someone* had 8 babies, but to find out she has six more little children at home!

I'd be much less inclined to, if she was married, and they lived in their own home, and could afford the children (though it would take quite a salary to raise 14 kids). But this situation is entirely different.Date: 1/30/2009 12:24:07 PM

You know, I don't judge women getting treatments after 6 kids... but dont they usually get their tubes TIED???
