We went to Shane Co. and found a Christopher Designs Crisscut ring priced at $1750. The ring will need to be size down to a 3.

However, the center stone was emerald cut, we were looking for a princess cut in the 0.5 range because her hands are tiny.

They said the value to credit us to change the center stone is $600.

Can we go with what they say or how can we get more accurate pricing from Christopher Designs themselves?

Any info about Shane Co. that you''ve encountered with would be appreciated. They claim to have a life guarantee if we were to lose any stones, it will be replaced and also the upgrade policy for the diamond is for the full refund of the price we paid with receipt.

Please help with ANY suggestions.

Please do a search on Shane and read through the posts and make your own decision.

lol Too slow.

can't they just order the setting in her size made for the stone you want? i wouldn't pay $600 to change the head for a different stone.

ETA: ditto deejay and ellen to search them and read other consumer feedback..

To be a little more direct, it might be a good idea to expand your search for a ring. I would not have a branded stone taken out of it''s setting. You can always buy a princess cut stone and get a setting for it.

I''d suggest Good Old Gold and WhiteFlash because they are reputable (hundreds of positive reports on the forum) and both carry AGS0 princess stones. Both carry a nice selection of settings and have upgrade policies as well. But find your diamond first, and then get the setting that is sized precisely for the stone you buy.
