Okay, so I am currently holding a diamond and need some help.
It appears to be a rather large stone with a good HCA score (1.6). I was assured it was eye clean. My concerns are about the cut, does the good HCA score negate the not so great cut?

Shape: Round

Certificate: GIA
Depth: 58.1%
Table: 60.0%
Polish: Excellent

Price $3100. Budget is between 3000-3500.

Is this a good buy, or should I hold out?

any help would really be appreciated!

Get an idealscope image. Doesn't cost you anything.

Looks like it could have leakage under the table...I'm holding out for the ideascope image.

you guys are fast! I just requested the image.
Thanks!

It's just way too shallow for a well balanced ring stone. This stone won't have leakage ( problem in steep or deep stones, not shallow stones.) Ideal Scope only tells you where obstruction is occurring, not how strong it is.

The latest suggestion is not an AGS 0, it is at best an AGS 1. I would not recommend.

Here is the idealscope

After some more researching, I can see how it will very shallow.

Can anyone suggest a diamond in the range of 3-3500. Size around .85-.95?

Any help would be appreciated!

You need to ask James Allen for the Ideal scope images or for their helping picking the best of those three. :wavey:

Here is a reference chart on Ideal Scopes so that you know what everything means: https://www.pricescope.com/communit...ence-chart-for-your-review-and-criticsm.9085/

See how the IS image you posted looks mostly like the "Very shallow" diamond? It explains that a very shallow diamond will look dull and dark.
