Hi Everyone,

I''m Alpesh and I have a dilemma. I can''t afford to buy a really nice asscher stone here in Canada, so I feel forced to buy online from the U.S., meaning I can''t see the stone.

I saw this setting and I love it for my girlfriend.... soon to be fiance?!

Here is what I''m looking to replicate:
http://www.diamondsourceva.com/Diamonds/AsscherCutRings/Asscher-Cut-0.94-0.32Tacori.asp

I have a jeweller here who can put the diamond in the setting.

What do you think of these specifications on a stone I have my eye on?

1.01ct Asscher
Colour: E
Clarity: VVS2
Cut: Premium
Depth: 66.3%
Table: 56%
Girdle: Thick to Very Thick
Culet: None
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Fluorescence: None
Measurements: 5.68 x 5.66 x 3.75
GIA Report: Only a Pinpoint is noted, but it looks spotless

Should I be concerned about the girdle?

Thanks guys!

You might not be able to *see* the stone, but at least buy from a place that has pictures.

Good Old Gold is probably the most recommended vendor for asschers, as they provide lots of good pictures and have a good supply of stones.

gog is also a Tacori dealer and might be able to save you a few bucks on the total ring package.

You really need to see the asscher or at least have good pictures of it if you are buying online, thus I second (or third) the recommendation for www.GoodOldGold.com

Ok, thanks for the tips. Can you tell me if a Thick-Very Thick Girdle should be a concern in general though, for an asscher stone?

Thanks!

v-thick is a case by case decision depending on the spread per weight.
