Buying a Pendant

Hi guys, I got some really great advice last time I was here for my (now wife''s) beautiful engagement ring and now we''re having a baby. I''d like to get her a platinum chain and a solitaire pendant. I was thinking something on the order of .5 carat (at, around or under the $2500 total range), and that would seem to get even a nice H&A diamond. My question is this, is H&A even worth it at that size? Should I consider going larger on the diamond since its for a pendant and sacrifice a little on the quality? Thanks for your inputs!

Congrats.

H&A is a safe bet but you can probably drop the cut to a slightly shallower pavilion stone, in the pendant stone range on the HCA to get a heavier, larger diameter stone.

i would spent $2k on a H-I SI1 H&A diamond.the setting & chain should cost about $500.
