Hello. New person here. Sorry in advance if this topic has been mentioned before.

My boyfriend and I are just starting to look at diamonds (yay!). But we don''t plan on getting engaged for at least another few months. My question is this: how quickly do diamonds turnover? As in, if we see a diamond we like should we buy it right away? Or will we be able to find a comparable diamond when we are ready?

At this point what we are looking for is this:
1.3-1.5 Round Ideal HA F-G VS1-VS2

We just don''t want to feel rushed.

TIA for any advice!

THAT is a hard to find size. If well cut, it will be snatched up quickly. They are few and far between.

ETA Up to just under 1.5. If you go TO 1.5, not so hard!

I say now as I had to factor this into my own decision making process as well. Since it is inevitable, you might as well buy now as the prices continue going up for gold and diamonds ... Why pay more later for something you can pay less for now, right? This was our way of thinking anyways ...

Besides ... it can take a while to find "your" perfect stone so there''s no harm in starting now and figuring it out as you go along.

Good luck to you!

Not so rare... there are at least 70 stones listed within 1.35-1.49ct. which are either GIA X/X/X or AGS0 as currently available through one of the major trade search engines.
