Hi PSers!

I posted this as an afterthought in the 'Show Us Your Dress' thread but I think it'll be easier this way. I recently ordered my dress (I'm very excited) and I know I have several months but I wanted to start gathering ideas for bustles that would best suit my dress so please share your suggestions and any photos you have of your own bustles.

I really don't know too much about bustles but I THINK the one I like is a double french bustle but I'm not sure if that would go with the design of my dress or not. Any input is appreciated!

Here is a photo of the back of my dress...

Thanks so much,

Diamondlove

I think it would look really cool if you picked up the bow a bit and then had an underbustle or two (not sure how many you''d need) underneath that. I love double french bustles! That''s what I plan on getting too

. I''m thinking about making my top one permanent.

Thanks Robbie3982,

When you say underbustle, do you mean similar to a french? I warned you I really don't know much about bustles.

It shouldn't be a big deal with trying out bustles but I guess because the dress already has somewhat of a lift where that bow is, it makes me unsure about how it'll affect the look because dresses typically have a flat train prior to the bustle. I do like your idea of lifting where the bow is-- I just wish I could find photos of something similar.

If anyone else has any ideas -- please share!

the length of your train will determine if you can have a double french bustle.
what would be easiest is to go to you seamstress and see what she suggests. that''s what i did. she showed me several options. in the end, i should her a pic of what i wanted - which was similiar to the double french she did on mine - and she did that.

Hmmm...I think they''re the same, but I''m not entirely sure! I agree that you should ask your seamstress for suggestions as well. They''re usually very good about know what they can and can''t do and probably have good suggestions of different ways you could bustle it.

Yes, a French bustle is an underbustle.

Thanks guys... I guess I''ll just wait until the dress gets in and see if the train is long enough for the double. I should have asked the alterations lady to look at it when I was trying on the sample but it didn''t cross my mind. I was just too caught up in the dress itself

.

Also, I did a search and there doesn''t seem to be too many variations of bustles.
