Can you expand on the “shoot you immediately” sentiment? I don’t want to make assumptions about how you would react to a person on your property. Your wording is brief. Do you mean to be this nondescriminant about who will die on your property?

There was a story I remember about a man (teacher, father of small children) who was camping with friends and family and entered the wrong cabin to shower off. Homeowner shot him dead.

There are also countless stories of a young person breaking into a home that are shot dead. I'm not arguing that the 16 year old made an awful decision but did he deserve to die?

It is never ok to take a life if you or your loved ones or others are not in imminent danger of being attacked or harmed. Possessions are not worth it, only lives. Pointing a firearm at a human being should never be taken lightly and should be a last resort. That said, sometimes there is no time for anything else and the choice is on you in a matter of seconds. Be prepared for whatever and aware at all times - this doesn't just mean gun owners.
