Instead of dems posting threads about crazy McCain supporters and republicans posting threads about crazy Obama supporters, I was thinking that there could be a thread where we comment on all of them.
This campaign is personal to a lot of people, and to the point where there has even been violence! It's terrifying. We need to direct our frustrations toward these crazy people who are giving everyone a bad name. Here are a couple examples of what I'm talking about:

A middle-aged woman holding a McCain sign was attacked today when some MAN grabbed her sign, broke it, and struck her in the face with it.

Then of course the McCain rally in Minnesota showed some supporters were getting pretty angry with McCain (some even say the word rage) and it leads people to wonder if these supporters will result to violence.

What is with people? This is a scary scary election, on both sides. I think we can all agree on that!

ETA: Sorry, the woman wasn't attacked today. She was attacked last month and the DA only released the report today...if I'm reading that right.
 
More election anger and more anger.

You know..I think it''s really bad on both sides, but I think it''s frustrating for me since I go to school in an overwhelming democrat area I really don''t feel safe putting my McCain Palin stickers on my car.

I keep it in my back window and turn it over most of the time..I can''t afford to have my car keyed or messed up right now.
 
Sarah, the Jill Greenburg photos in the second link you posted really bothered me....like really. That woman is ....no matter what I''ll say it will be too nice.

Well and you know the thing is Lucky it seems like the hate just spawns more hate if that makes sense. Like the other day my friend joined a "let''s steal McCain signs group" and when I asked her why she said because someone stole her Obama sign. I offered to get her another Obama sign of course, but she already had a new one. Obviously my friend isn''t a crazy, but the person that stole her sign probably is and now she''s stooping to their level. Politics def. brings out the worst in us, even me sometimes.

Oh my gosh...you don''t even want to know some of the jokes I''ve seen on the net regarding Trig. It is truly sickening and heart breaking. I won''t post them here as it does nothing but give people attention.

Man that''s especially mean. But you know..that''s not even a partisan thing..some people just don''t understand or don''t care what it''s like to be around someone with a disability. I mean they are some of the kindest people out there and we can learn so much from them..but a lot of people just don''t care and figure since they are different they''re the perfectly acceptable target to attack.

That is beyond awful! He is such a beautiful little baby, I get so sad that he is always asleep in pictures, the ones where he is awake are super darling, they just make me smile, smile, smile!

Here''s what I don''t get. I''ve got some friends with Obama yard signs and some with McCain signs. I haven''t heard of or seen one McCain sign getting trashed where I live, but my friends, friends of friends and even some people who live down the street from me got their Obama signs stolen or ripped apart. I don''t know what''s up with that. I would never, ever, no matter what, go on someone else''s property and steal a political sign, even if I can’t stand what that sign stands for. I don’t know what ever happened to the freedom of speech.


On the news the other night they showed a woman who went around and was caught on camera steeling three Obama signs from three separate houses.


Seriously people, WTF?


Honestly, I know it’s not just one side, but from my experience it has been one sided.


So here’s what I say, to those yard thieves. Let’s just agree to disagree. Don’t go steeling signs, you don’t like it, well put a different sign in your own damn yard, but let people

Well, I'm just talking about what I've seen, experienced and what I've heard/seen on the news. And sadly, around by me, it had been one sideded. Just awfu all the way around.

I also agree that the families should be off limits for jokes. Like Obama said, "Let me be as clear as possible, I think people''s families are off-limits, and people''s children are especially off-limits. This shouldn''t be part of our politics. It has no relevance to Gov. Palin''s performance as governor or her potential performance as a vice president."

Hi Brazen! How''s things? Wasn''t sure if you''ve seen this so I thought I would post it for you..but the Secret Service says the "kill him" thing actually never happened. I think they are still looking for evidence other than the reporter''s word, maybe they''ll find it - some people are that nuts I am sure. Here''s the article if you''re interested!

The video of the rally? No idea. I guess it should have been caught..but maybe the person was far enough from the mics..or right next to this reporter if it happened?
 
I can''t even find the video anymore. Searching "Sarah Palin" and "Kill him" shows some videos, but none of them with the audio of the person actually yelling it.

Anyway, I''m really trying to keep this thread away from turning into an argument about which side is worse, so hopefully it won''t head that way.

Yes, there is a video, I''ve seen it and sadly, not it''s not doctored.

The Secret Service was talking about a seperate rally. It was said to have happened at more than one. That one were there wasn''t any "evidence" since it wasn''t captured on camera and the SS said it never happened.

But the first one did and like I said it was on camera. I''ll look for that link.

Well, I''m unafraid to say it. . . . she needs to be deported to a third world country run by a nasty dictator with communist leanings and genocidal blood on his hands. Was that too nice?

As for the rest of them, they look every bit the crazies they are. Yeah, I''d want them ''supporting'' me in a campaign.

What they''ve done amounts to terrorism, and they need to be prosecuted as such. Those weren''t acts of ''civil disobedience''.

See, it''s the crazy racist stuff like this that gives McCain supporters a bad name. Yes there are offensive Obama supporters, but hanging effigies of Obama from a tree? Sorry, that''s worse than someone doctoring McCain photos to say "Warmonger." I realize it''s not a contest, but I think the way that the McCain crazies are attacking Obama are more offensive and dangerous to this country (and possibly Obama himself) overall.
