My original engagement diamond needed a fresher setting than the standard three stone it was in for 12 years. I wanted to showcase my diamond without overwhelming it with alot of metal and prongs. After reading many threads here, including the BE/ERD thread, I decide to contact Chris of Brilliantly Engaged for a quote on a few solitaire settings. He responded right away and I can say the quote was very reasonable. With his suggestions, I decided on the Carla solitaire in platinum. It is a four prong floating basket with small cathedral arms. The shank is 1.75mm and will allow a flush fit with a wedding band (which I still need to look for). They were able to scale the design very well to accommodate my smaller stone. My diamond is a .50 E VS 2, my original engagement stone. No GIA cut grading as they did not grade cut in 2002, but Mark and Chris agreed the cut was excellent.
Chris had CADs to me within two weeks, and I got the email that it will be delivered tomorrow! I can share the CADs and the quick snapshots Chris just sent over to me. I cannot wait to get it on my finger.
