Hi guys,

Has anyone purchased a ring from brilliant earth living in the UK? Did you have to pay additional fees when it arrived. Their customer service reps seem to say that it’s all covered in the price but I’m not sure that it is. As usually I get a hefty duties and taxes bill before they deliver. Any experiences?

I'm not sure if BE ships from the UK/EU or just from the US - if the former, the price should include VAT, but if the latter, you will need to add 20% VAT and 2.5% for a complete jewellery piece (whereas a loose stone only attracts the VAT).

BE has not had good reviews lately (in terms of customer service) so make sure you read up before purchasing.

Definitely. I've not experienced it personally but several people on here have had issues!

Check out the 'List of MMD Vendors' thread in this part of the forum for other options - I believe Durham Rose are based in Stratford, if that's in any use, and they are a Trade member on here and also stockists of Crafted by Infinity diamonds, so they should know all about what they need to look for in terms of 'cut'

I had a really great experience with Clean Origin and they're very similar, customer service was super friendly (although I didn't need to use them particularly as their were no issues with my order). I'm not sure how they stack up, but I've also heard less stellar things about Brilliant earth.
