Okay I know there have been a few debates about this but since my bridesmaids are planning my bridal shower and have requested this I thought I''d pass this by folks on here and see what they think.
I''m currently registered for a honeymoon only for my wedding.
My bridesmaids said shower gifts are generally nice little items that either the guest comes up with themsleves or they pick off a registry. Since I only have a honeymoon registry they suggested I create a small registry for household items or the like. Something I may need. Last night I tried to create a couple of registries, one at Bed Bath and Beyond and one at Amazon.com. I put about 13 total items on both registries ranging from 10 dollars to 80 dollars. I was trying to think of anything else we might need but i''m drawing a blank. Basically it was items like a new cutting board, pillows, some tupperware type containers. So not a lot of stuff. Now I don''t expect anyone to have to buy a gift off these registries but I thought since they suggested it, it might be a nice alternative for people to buy off of versus having to try and buy a honeymoon gift for our wedding present then another one for the shower if they didn''t have any ideas of their own. I don''t want to put too much pressure on people to buy gifts so I was hoping to not have to list these registries on my website. Instead the girls would ''word of mouth'' them to people they may want to bring a shower gift.
Is this appropriate? Should I later maybe add those two small registries to the main list to give people non-honyemoon gift giving ideas when the wedding rolls around if the items aren''t all purchased?
We''re inviting about 30 people to the shower, half of which won''t be able to make it since my family is scattered all over the country.
