Ohh, similar to mine but I did find the vendor photo more “vivid” than the actual sapphire.

I got mine off Etsy. It was more vivid in the vendors photos but I decided I still loved the sapphire. So more just letting you know that sometimes the photos aren’t quite the same as real life. They look best, in my opinion, in brighter light.

Can I ask specs and price on yours
I think it’s beautiful
Mine I got videos about 5 not so many pics so I think it’ll be accurate but it flashes different depending on light
I just really love the way these look

Mine was $200 and is 2.11 carats. Fortunately I bought it before “opalescent“ sapphires became a big 03E418D0-06D0-428F-BA62-C82D324E68A5.jpeg 03E418D0-06D0-428F-BA62-C82D324E68A5.jpeg 8B8DDD0F-4892-4220-B600-82DE5CCE7B39.jpeg B970E1DA-52F4-4E79-A011-A066771A3D55.jpeg 89FE4BD1-2DE6-4703-AE90-0E6B0D1E277E.jpeg 28C28610-B1AF-44D1-83A9-81F133B2A443.jpeg thing. The setting in 18ct gold with wee diamonds was another $600.

It's a nice stone, but IMO that vendor's prices are the absolute worst. I am under the impression that he sometimes buys stones from other IG vendors and then resells with 100-400% profit. This glowing pink/purple color is just not that rare. Here are a couple nice examples in rings.

The price did seem high but I ran some searches for opalescent sapphires not a lot came up.
I’ve looked at nutellakitty for awhile anyone have experience with her
Beautiful stuff

But tbh the price of her settings is prob close to what I’d paid for my stone in a setting. The second sapphire is much smokier than mine

I’ll evaluate it when it arrives but I love opinions

This is a particularly beautiful example, Bron... I can't believe the price!

To find a low price, you have to find a vendor that does not advertise a sapphire as opalescent. Anyone using that terminology tends to jack up the price. Search for luc yen vietnam and #milksapphire to find some good examples at MUCH lower prices. The nice ones tend to sell quickly but if you keep your eye on the right vendors, eventually you'll get lucky!

Opalescent is a marketing gimmick. Irl these type of sapphires should be inexpensive.

Not seeing much of a window tbh

I think the sleepy nature of these gems somewhat obscures the appearance of the pavilion facets through the table. That might be what she's seeing. I didn't notice an obvious window myself. When is she scheduled to arrive?! :mrgreen2:

So it’s actually really pretty imo. It’s dark here
Lighting in my house is mixed not great in any room but I walked around snapping pics. It actually flashes a lot like an opal
Only 1 or 2 spots it didn’t flash

I think the colour is so pretty, and quite saturated too! The window is not super obvious but I recommend setting the ring with an open basket but with a closed base to reflect light upwards.

The color is quite lovely! The performance seems appropriate considering the sleepy nature of these stones. How are you feeling about the clarity in person?

I think its about what I'd expect. I guess you could say I like sleepy gems. I had a post about a ruby awhile back thats sleepy. it glows but doesnt quite flash as much as this. I think its about 1/2 ct got it from Sennin Esko. I guess in comparison to that price this is reasonable. I hate that I can prob get one from overseas cheaper but at the same time sometimes they enhance the pictures and idk what I'll get.
I feel like this sapphire is actually 1 stone that looks better than I thought it would.

yeah I did actually. They are roughly 1/4. Its hard b/c IDK if it will shine the same what do you think? The cut on those looks a little asymmentrical to esp the one on the left, but the shine is pretty!

what's the carat size of these? Are they a bit smaller than the one you have?
If you'd like to compare and choose, maybe also consider the return policy of both vendors? Last time I asked Caleb only offers store credits if I recall correctly.

It might be me but the second vendor's photo looks somewhat oversaturated (see the color of skin). Also the cut looks wonky (as often is the case for Vietname sapphires?)

Btw I love Vietnam sapphires! only have a few sub-carat ones myself but I'd love to own a larger one. For reference: the bottom one is somewhat similar to the ones in discussion in terms of sleepiness, but its cut deeper and shows more flashes due to that. It was .65ct $200 from an oversea vendor.

I cannot imagine there is a difference in these stones that would somehow justify a 400% price difference. If anything, IMO, the cheaper one would be more saturated, have less of a window and no big inclusion. Like I said in my first post here, the original vendor IS buying these same stones and selling them for 4x the price.
