My mom came by yesterday to check the diamond out and said it looked tinted in the first 5 minutes. Unbelievable! I think it was the cream stucko in the sun though cause it did look really yellow. What to do although i love the diamond. My only other option would be go down in carat or give up ideal cut and im not willing to do either of those. OH the madness, im racking my brain.

Im thinking ritani endless or excell nova rep for a setting. Id like to get it set asap to see how it looks
Did she know what color it was before she saw its "tint"? Did you ask her, "Does this look tinted"? I don''t think I''d give a hoot what other people thought about a tint or no tint, but you obviously aren''t sold. I think you may need to get something more "mind clean".

Also what you said about the environment is dead on. My bedroom has gold globes on the ceiling fan lights. I have had an F and I side by side in that room and they BOTH looked tinted. Visibly, noticeably TINTED!!!1 It does make a dif. Check it in other places to see if it''s as visible. Get your neighbors to see it without telling them the color. Just say what do you think of my sparkly? Anything stand out to you?

I agree completely! You should definitely get something you looooooove!! See how you feel over a couple of days, but if you don''t love it, then don''t stop til you DO fall in love with your ring!!

Have you looked at it in diffused natural lighting yet? That's the true test.

A very well cut stone such as yours is going to pick up the colors in its surroundings. My G looks tinted in indoor lighting as well.

Go look at it in diffused (under a tree outside, or go to Home Depot-their lighting is incredible, or a movie theater)lighting.
Be forewarned, once you have carried around this size rock for a while, you will become used to it and anything smaller will become really small (a trick the mind plays). You will have trouble going smaller, I think.

The setting will help "hide" the side views enough, I believe. What matters is how "alive" the rock is- that it doesn''t sit there. What matters to most average folks will be the size, from a distance.

That said, maybe you could go in person to GOG and compare more similar stones for the one that "speaks to you."
