Bought a new setting need mounting suggestions

I recently bought a 14K white gold halo setting from Shane Co and want my stone from WhiteFlash currently in a platinum cathedral setting ring to be removed and placed into the new one. Shane and Co said they charge $3 per cent for mounting a center stone which is not theirs.

In other words, I will have to pay around $336 for mounting my stone in the new setting. It sounded expensive to me and was wondering if there are other trusted vendors or jewelers who can do this job in and around bay area, california. or is $336 reasonable for moutning a 1.12ct stone in a new setting?

I would take them to a local vendor. Shop around at reputable brick and mortar stores in your area. Then you dont have to pay for shipping too

that is if the settting is already made to fit your stone

$336 is a rip off! It should be anywhere from $50 to $100 max.

yes, the setting is made for the size of the stone I own. Any recommendations of stores in and around Bay area California?

You may have trouble finding someone to do it when you didn't buy the stone or setting there. Some jewelers won't want the liability.
