@Dancing Fire what is the solution you use?
When my Magnasonic craps out this is what I’m buying. It looks pretty much bulletproof!

The solution in the tank is 50% Mr. green and 50% water. You can use 10% ammonia + 90% water + a few drops of blue Dawns.

I don't understand you ladies here...you spent thousands and thousands of dollars on diamonds and are willing to cheap out on a nice US cleaner?. Buy a well made one and it'll last you a lifetime. In the long run you will save money. My US is about 12 yrs old and it still work like new.

The unit @Dancing Fire has is a commercial grade ultrasonic. GemOro also makes consumer grade ultrasonics which do not have the same quality engineering behind them. If you're wanting to purchase a similar unit be sure to look for the commercial grade ultrasonic. GemOro 1.5PT Next-Gen Ultrasonic is the current commercial grade model. You can find it easily for $135-$150.

Excellent point. The new model I referenced is engineered in the USA, but made in China. This info is not readily available on the manufacturer website so be careful as to which unit you are actually getting.

Remember these SI/US cleaners ?? They all die a long time ago mine and Cflutist's are the only two survivors from 12 yrs ago b/c our's aren't made in China.

At the time I asked several local jewelers what brand of US they used, good enough for them, good enough for me.

I did the same with power tools, noticed the brands that my contractors used and bought the same brands for DH, no Black and Decker for him.
