I really like this setting.

I have one question
What is this style or mounting called? Is this a V setting?
The V in the above looks different than the one below - it is more pointed. I like the looks of the below better, but is it a good setting?

I think they are just corner settings or v-prongs as the description said. I think it is just the angle of the stone which is making the v more pointed on the stone. Are they both trillion cuts or is one maybe a trilliant - more rounded corners.

The edges of the ring (where it touches the side stones) of the above design is very beautiful unlike the one below.

Can any one tell me - Is there a name for this or what is it called?

Is it not just that the shoulders of the ring have been designed in a v around the shape of the v-prong. I think there is still a v prong set against the diamond.

After looking again it looks as though the shoulders have the prong incorporated into them, there does not appear to be a v prong infront of the shoulder. Would this be strong enough to hold the stone if the ring had to be resized etc.
Maybe one of the experts will comment on this?

Also here is the spec on the ring.
How can one know what kind of plat is this?

Prong Metal:razz:latinum

Approximate Ring's Width:2.7-3mm
Setting Type:4 Prong

I have read 950 Platinum S1 is good. Who sells? for a princess cut like the design I like (see the url in this posting above)
