Saw an article on Blue Nile this morning, which is essentially a comparison of prices by diamond shape. It essentially leads the reader to conclude that RBs are up to 2x more expensive at a given weight (all else equal). Perhaps technically correct, but misleading giving face up size. Thoughts?

Well ... more than half of the shapes do face up larger, though - marquises, pears, ovals, and hearts tend to be a little "big" for their weight. It's more an issue of popularity than anything else: given soaring prices, perhaps this will encourage more diversity in e-ring buying? At the least, I bet it's what BN is hoping ....

Intereting! I am hoping the higher diamond prices lead to more diversity. Maybe people will consider colored stones
(although they can also be expensive). I feel bad for these young kids trying to buy an engagement ring these days. :(sad

People complain that asschers face up small compared to a round of the same weight.
But, an asscher is 43% cheaper than a round of the same weight.

When people post this complaint about asscher facing up small so they can't afford one, we need to tell them to buy a heavier asscher that is the same price as the round...
