Wedding BM gifts

so here are the facts:

wedding date 2/21/09

6 bridesmaids

if i want to spend about $75 per girl, what is the nicest, best, coolest thing i can get them? they are all pretty fashionable and enjoy nice handbags and things like that, but anything like that is out of my price range. any ideas???

Are you paying for them to have their hair and/or manicure-pedicure for the wedding? If not, I always think that is a nice gesture...A gift certificate to go toward these services, maybe.

For weddings I have been in, I have received jewelry for the day of (nice pearl or gold/ WG earrings - something that can be worn after as well), flip flops for the reception, personalized totes (J.Crew, Lands End)...Otherwise if you can''t afford the whole handbag, what about a cute designer wristlet?

I was thinking about doing some very nice travel/toiletry bags with their initials. I figure they can get use out of these (if your ladies ever travel) and it is not something they would feel silly using. Or, I kinda like the personalized valet/jewelry box

We gave our entire bridal party the 2g iPod shuffles. I think they were $70. Everyone loved them, and if they didn''t want them they could easily return them to the Apple store for some other techno gadget.

You also have a bit of time. Could you think of something special to get each bridesmaid, something that would suit each girl specifically? For example, I buy envelope embossers for my friends when they buy new homes. They cost about $80, and they''re really useful because you can use them on any envelope that you send. If I had a bridesmaid who just moved, I would have given her one of those.

they are all going their own way for hair and makeup the day of the wedding, so that''s sort of out.

and the toiletry case, while cute, wouldn''t be so useful for most of them who don''t really travel.

I only have my sis as my MOH, but I got her this cashmere wrap at Nordstroms. It was on sale and I know she will put it to good use after the wedding and hopefully at the reception.

I second the wristlets. I gave coach wristlets to my bridesmaids when I asked them to be in my wedding and they just loved them.

I was thinking about getting my BM''s some cute jewelry to wear in the wedding. Originally I thought a classic pearl bracelet and pearl earrings from Iridesse (www.iridesse.com), but now I am thinking about something a little more funky, like a chunky bracelet from jcrew jewelry collection. They have some great stuff!
