Blue spinel from Jeffery Davies

I thought at first that this was the affordable sapphire everyone is always looking for, but it turned out to be an 8-mm. untreated blue spinel from Jeffery Davies, precision cut. I was prepared for it to be darker than shown, but surprise! It likes dim incandescent light and is definitely blue, not black. Was lucky enough to find a pre-loved pendant setting and the two are now together.
