Bought ring to surprise my wife as an update to her cheaper engagement ring when we originally got married

It's from blue Nile
Gia
0.9 ct
I color
Ideal cut
Vs1
Strong blue fl

I notice that when held to light everything sparkles but the center turns a hazy white directly against light.
Does it just need to be cleaned or is this the dreaded cloud?
Pic attached

I went ideal cut and vs1 and paid more than the very good 1.02carat I originally looked at on blue Nile

Any advice would help - is it normal? It sparkles great on rotation but held directly under light this happens image_1325.jpg

Or am I just paranoid about it? Ita beautiful otherwise

In the picture, it seems like light reflecting off the surface as glare to me. Maybe there is something under the table, but I can't see anything from the picture. Is there a cloud in the certificate?

The certificate states crystal and feather , that's it.

This really is my first diamond so I am unsure what is normal. So glare at table is normal under lights being directly above it? Sorry if it's a a silly question - just wanted to make sure it was more than likely glare and not a flaw.

Thanks guys

Sometimes a stone with strong fluorescence can make the stone look milky or cloudy. Look at the stone in all types of lighting. Sunlight, pin spotting, diffused lighting etc.

It looks like a reflection off the table - is there something else that you're seeing?

It's just glare from the sun light on the table. Gorgeous ring!

lol if that is a picture of exactly what you are seeing that is just glare, like you get when you tilt any shiny thing right into a light.

Glare makes any oil, finger print, dust very visible and make a diamond appear SUPER hazy and cloudy

Looks a lovely ring. I also think it's the way the light is reflecting.

picture perfect facet glare off the table is all I am seeing.
Facet glare is when the glare off the facet is stronger than the light refracted from the inside of the facet.
The table being the largest facet on the diamond is where it shows up the most often.
A little oil on the facet will make it much worse than if the diamond is clean.
