Hello, well I have been looking for an engagement ring, and I been looking on the bluenile website, but then was reading on here and Ive seen that whiteflash looks like a better website. Where would you recommend buying a ring and the diamond from. I''ve seen that bluenile is a little more expensive. Is this true?

I wouldn't buy from Blue Nile, but that's just me. I think they are overpriced, and they don't give enough information about the stones.

I have not purchased from WF, but I definitely would do so in the future. Also, I would look at GoodOldGold and James Allen.

I''d buy from WF, have done so a few times myself. They give you all the information on the stone and have an upgrade policy.

Welcome Cujo!

Like Coaties, I would definitely shop at WF as they have onsite experts, in house diamonds which have very often been evaluated for cut quality, and all the info you need to make an informed choice.

For a larger purchase, I think WF is the way to go. They have a lot of information about their stones, great jewelers to work on settings, etc., and an awesome upgrade policy.

However, for smaller purchases I think BN is fine. THey have a great inventory for matching earrings and that sort of thing, but no upgrade policy.

WF is my personal choice. More info, AmAzIng customer service, and a fabulous upgrade policy---none of which BN offers IMO. I''ve purchased from both, but will not do business with BN in the future. I would purchase from GoodOldGold in a heartbeat, too.

I''d pick someone with an upgrade policy and who doesn''t drop ship. I haven''t used either WF or bluenile but I''d go with WF of those two due to their policies...or GOG.

WF is the way to go. they provide all the information, photos, etc. you need on the stones and they''re a pleasure to work with.

Here is another vote for James Allen; I recently purchased my diamond from them and they were great to work with. They spent hours on the phone with me and allayed all my fears about purchasing online.

If you know what you''re doing and what to look for, Blue Nile may save you a little bit of money. Whiteflash and others give you more information, but it comes at a price. To some, that added value is worth the small premium.

I also highly recommend WF. We got my engagement ring and wedding band from them and they came out great. Everyone is very helpful and great to work with.

I don''t have any valid reason to not want to deal with Blue Nile, however, I do feel, possibly irrationally, that other online vendors would be able to offer you similar or better quality at a competitive price.

I would recommend WF b/c I''ve dealt with them and both the product and service they offer are excellent. Additionally, given the rave reviews of many other PS''ers and the depth and breadth of information they freely share with the consumer on their site, I would recommend Good Old Gold as well.

I have dealt with WF. They are just wonderful. Haven''t tried GOG or JA, but would if they have what I need.

Regarding Blue Nile, I too found their prices a bit high. I did purchase from them before. But I guess if they have what you are looking for, they seem pretty good. And they have a 30 return policy.

Whiteflash...Whiteflash...Whiteflash...

You can not go wrong with them. Ask for Celina she will help you out loads.
Bought E-ring, Wedding Bands and earrings from them and could not be happier.

Also lest not forget the upgrade policy.... that just seals the deal

I bought from GOG but would (will

) also buy from WF in a heartbeat.

Whiteflash is a no brainer because of their excellent customer service and upgrade policy.
Just yesterday I made my first purchase from there and I was extremely pleased with every aspect.
Ask for Lesley as she is AMAZING and truly the "superstar" everyone says she is!

I also made a large purchase from Union Diamond which was a great experience too.. Ask for Leah -- she is very responsive and goes the extra mile.

Although in hindsight, I could kick myself for not buying the stone from WF as I could be upgrading in a couple years!!!
(ok, I admit it .. I''m a diamond addict)

I agree. I was looking for a ~1/2 ct. stone for my diamond pendant and found a great stone at BN that was several hundred dollars cheaper than comparable stones from other vendors. It was an AGS 0 and I had 2 salespeople at BN confirm (over the phone) that it was an eye-clean SI1. Overall, the process was very smooth and I got a little fireball that I''m quite pleased with.

Good old Gold hands down!!!! Absolutely the best PS vendor I have ever dealt with the information is fantastic the service impeccable and the video''s rock :)

Good old Gold! I am currently purchasing from GOG and cannot say enough about their customer service, quality of product and professionalism. There is nothing like dealing with a family owned business. We drove six hours in one day to visit the store and it was worth every minute...email John and you will get an instant reply..in fact we called the store at 8:00 p.m on Friday and John not only picked up the phone, he took the time to answer our questions...where else can you get that level of service?

I agree with most people here. I personally loved WF because of my wonderful experienced with them. The customer service is excellent and that alone is worth looking into. I also have heard a lot of good things about GoG and James Allen.

In fact I am considering getting my next diamond from either. As for Blue Nile, their diamonds seem a bit more pricey than the rest but if you''ve found something that you liked from them and you agree with the price, why not?

Have fun diamond hunting!

Another vote for Whiteflash. I have dealt with them numerous times and have always received excellent customer service. I live overseas and they made everything really easy and stress-free!!
