comparing like quality on the high end stones blue Nile is more expensive a lot of the time.
On the next step or 2 down sometimes they are less by a litttle.
The biggest problem with blue Nile is lack of information and lack of forum participation.
The information WF provides is worth a small premium.
edit: and the upgrade policy is important too a lot of people also.
When I purchased a couple small diamonds for earrings last year, Blue Nile was a lot less expensive than Whiteflash. But, I expected that they should be given that they provide less information prior to purchase. Blue Nile has a generous 30 return policy, so I figured there was no harm in ordering the diamonds and taking a look. I wasn''t interested in the upgrade policy, so I didn''t want to pay a premium to WF for that.
but nothing wrong with bluenile and you do get some good diamonds at really good price at bluenile as compared to other vendor, but you should know what you are looking for if you want to buy at bluenile.
I purchased a diamond that was originally purchased from Blue Nile. Even though I was not the original buyer of the stone, I still called Blue Nile about the diamond to get as much information and verification that I could.
The service that that was provided by Blue Nile was GREAT, bar none. They were very very helpful and I was very pleased and I wasnt even the orignal buyer.
I believe BN is cheaper than WF and GOG. I''ve done a lot of price comparisons. IMHO you''re paying more at GOG and WF for the extra service and more info on the diamonds they offer. That being said it''s nice to have the additional info WF GOG offer. You''re much surer about what you getting and in fancy cuts that''s a nice value add.
