Blue Nile Cirque Ring

Hey all,

I'm new to the forum. My boyfriend and I are looking at rings and I'm trying to decide on a setting. He wants to buy me a simple 6 prong solitaire but I am very interested in the blue nile cirque ring in platinum:

I can't seem to find anyone on this forum with this setting. Does anyone have any pictures of this? I think it's beautiful!! I hope to be able to set it with a .90.

Hi, and welcome to Pricescope!

I don't think I've seen anyone with that setting here, but it's very pretty! Most of the posters here tend to get diamonds from vendors who offer more information on the diamonds than Blue Nile (such as Whiteflash.com or GoodOldGold.com), so they typically get their settings through them also. Blue Nile won't sell their settings without a diamond purchase, if I recall correctly.

If you're open to looking for other similar settings I would check out some other vendors. Pearlmansjewelers.com has TONS of great settings from good designers. Beverly K and Ritani both make gorgeous halo settings. I can't wait to see what you end up with!

The link is not working for me. But I do know the ring because I was really interested in it myself. I definitely want yellow gold, and BN said that they could not do it. So I had to pass.

As far as what to do when you and your bf have different opinions, it depends. The six prong setting is much cheaper, so he might not be able to afford a .9 with the cirque setting. Would you be willing to go with a smaller stone if the ring you want is over budget?

I agree that it is sometimes more reassuring to buy from vendors that offer more info. BF and I are going with Whiteflash and they''ve been great. I thought because bf and I were on a pretty tight budget (under $3,000), they might not be too attentive. I was wrong, they''ve been communicating with us and they offer a PS discount. So far, so good.

Still, I''m not saying that you should not work with BN. I have bought jewelry from them (not diamonds) and I have no complaints. The item looked exactly like it did on the website. You can only post a review after you buy from them, so that means all the reviews come from actual people who bought the items. They also have 30 day back guarantee, so if you don''t like it, then you can return it.

Lovely setting!! If you want my opinion I would encourage you to get the best diamond you can afford (best for you by your standards) then consider the setting. But maybe for you the setting is very important?

Hi there. I found this ring in the show me your halos thread. I remember thinking that pricescoper was shopping blue nile and this ring looks awfully similar. I just thought I would post it for you in case it is the setting you are looking at. By the way, I LOVE halos and I think it is lovely. I think it is good to have a nice mix between setting and diamond. I went for the bigger diamond in a plain setting and now all I can think about is the halo! And the hubby is sentimental and slow to let me chnage the setting. Just a thought for you!
