I am very torn between 2 settings.

1) The Blue Nile 4-prong setting. The price is right on this one and I really like BlueNile.com and would like to work with them, but I am very picky about the height of the setting and from the pictures I''ve seen of this setting, it is way too high for my taste. Does anyone know if the height is set or if you''re able to tell the jewelers there to make it low? (I''ve emailed customer service but would like second opinions since they tend to be short on words and descriptions).

2) A more expensive ($450 more - and I''m on a tight budget) Tiffany knife setting from Whiteflash.com. My hesitation for this setting is the more expensive price and I do not know as much about Whiteflash''s reputation as I do BlueNile''s. But I LOVE the setting and know that the height will be right. But, it appears that Whiteflash only makes this Tiffany knife setting for diamonds .5 carats and bigger and the diamond I picked out is just under .5 carats. I''m worried that this setting (which says its smallest size fits diamonds .5-.9 carats) would be too big and that it doesn''t come any smaller.

Can anyone provide any input on if the BlueNile 4 prong is in fact very high or any experience with the Tiffany knife edge at Whiteflash with a smaller diamond? Or any information that might help me?!

Thanks!

Email Whiteflash and mention to them your concerns, they will be able to tell you with certainty if you r diamond will work in their setting. Do you have the exact dimensions? Not all stones are cut the same and yours may face up larger.
Also if you love the look of the Tiffany Knife edge and I could see why you would, then what about asking them to make it in white gold?
