Black Diamond and Rose Gold Necklace

I'd love some opinions on this necklace we purchased yesterday. I like to wear charm necklaces and often layer more than 1 at a time. This charm is a feather and it is 18K rose gold and black diamonds. I was looking for something delicate but also with a bit of an edge. I also think the setting work is very well done and I love the graduated stones and that it the charm is slightly curved. Someone today told me they thought it literally looked like I was wearing a "terd" around my neck. I wanted to see what some pricescopers thought of this piece. Do you like it? I know it is not everyone's style but I want to know what you guys think.

Well, I looked at the pics first before I read your post, and I had no idea the pendant was a feather until I read it in your description. I am curious how it looks when it is around your neck - in terms of design I am not sure whether the curve on the pendant helps or hinders the "feather" concept (the bird feathers I happen to see loose on the ground are usually quite flat). Does the feather design come across better when you are wearing the necklace?

That said, from the pics it does seem to be well-crafted - and I do love feather charms (and have a simple white gold feather pendant) and am intrigued by the idea of a well-executed black diamond feather - but in this case, for me personally, I'd probably prefer the feather to be without the curve and perhaps to have the feather edged around in rose-gold to highlight the feather concept and to "marry" the black diamond charm to the rose gold metal chain.

Well, first of all whoever said that to you is the real "turd"!

I think it's a little hard to see that it's a feather, especially from a distance, just because the stones sort of blend together. It's probably just the pics and the lighting, because in one of them I can make out the feather shape. I think it would look really nice worn with a few other small charms.
