Bit of Help With Diamond Studs

Hi everyone!

Hope all is well and everyone is in a good place!

I'm going to be getting my wife a pair of studs shortly and I just wanted to get your opinions /suggestions.

- from Canada, so have to consider duty etc.
- 0.80 tcw is what I'm after... Thinking h-j and si2-si1.
- open to previously enjoyed.
- Martini setting (something low profile that allows lots of light).

Will be going with Yekutiel and IDJ route. He's done a couple pieces for me and though I've never met him in person, cannot say enough positives about him, or his business.

Questions are,

$1500 USD budget all in minus duty etc realistic?

Uncerted stones still possible for idj to find ideal cut?

Anyone see any used studs that look good?

- Martini setting (something low profile that allows lots of light). NO LIGHT GETS IN FROM BEHIND THE DIAMOND BECAUSE THERE IS NONE THERE.

Suggest you choose low HCA score shallow diamonds because no one can bolck the light

I don't know about new, but you should definitely be able to get a nice pair of 1ctw studs on the secondhand market for under 1000 USD. I trawled eBay for a long time for studs and most were well under that price range (reasonable colour/clarity). I have no idea about new however.

I ultimately jumped on a pair of MMD studs via James Allen when they had a sale on. Being studs, I wasn't fussed about origin.

Thanks for the replies!

Those preloved ones sound nice, but are more than I'd like to spend at the moment....house Reno's were draining! Haha.

Ebay sounds promising, but I find it hard to sift throigh the junk... I'm pretty good with picking rounds based on certs/images (tho in person is obviously best)... But want ideal cut stones above all else..which obviously the vast majority listed on eBay aren't.

If anyone has a link to nice ones please share! Thanks again!
