Hi everyone,
I'm new to the site and think it's fantastic. My soon to be fiancee showed it to me. We've been togther for seven years and are looking to make our hearts commitment a reality and take the plunge.
He really wants me to be happy and we've been looking as rings together, showing him a few styles and settings I'd like, and I really love the Brilliant cut Careese at Birks. Has anyone purchased this ring or knows someone who has it that can give feedback on the ring.
We're curious to get some opinions on the wear and tear as it is so delicate, the wedding band, etc...

You're feedback is really appreciated.

Hi, I''m a Canadian-gal and before we purchased my diamond online we also visited Birks. I was shocked to learn that a 2.0ct, G Brilliant cut diamond was $57,000 CAD. The Careese settings are very beautiful but it will be very expensive...not sure of your budget?

Approx. 0.5 carat ring, in "Caresse" will be $12 000 + tax. That''s almost $15 000 for a 0.5ct. G, VS2 in their setting.

Not sure if you''ve seen the pics from their catalogue yet? Lovely stuff but sooooo expensive. It all depends on your diamond size expectations and budget. Do you have a picture of the specific setting...you could always get it recreated by one of the online Prisescope vendors.

Hi,

Thanks for replying. My partner loves the amorique, but I like the caresse style on my hand better. I was looking at the .75, g colour, and I honestly, can''t remember the rest.
We''ve recently gone to a jewler who sys they''ve made this exact ring before but doesn''t have any pictures of th acutal finished product to prove it and I''m kind of skeptical her reproduce all those side pave stones. Also, he was telling my partner about what kind of scams to watch for, great advice, but repeatedly makes me worry. A friend of ours go their rings their and they were great, but anyone can do a beautiful three stone ring. He''s got great quality, but we were also concerned about the stoens he showed us as he compared a .71 and .76 and they looked exactly the same and didn''t even resemble a .75 anyways. Maybe too shallow?
Any suggestions about great vintage desingers?

Thanks, ~T

Hi, it seems that the Caresse line actually carries many styles. Do you have a picture of the specific style or can you describe it more? It might be on their website....BRIKS: www.birks.com

I can only think of online vendors and designers: Have you seen Leon Mege''s work? He''s amazing - New York designer. (I''m getting my setting made by Leon - it''s a 3stone setting with pear side diamonds. I''ll post a few Leon settings...
