Biggest eternity band for oval solitaire

I was BLESSED with this amazing oval engagement ring a month ago! HOWEVER, all I thought wanted (second marriage!) this time was a BIGGGG eternity band - so an amazing solitaire was an incredible surprise.

and it turns out i adore it.

Future husband says I can still have an eternity band for wedding this August - but my gosh - this diamond too pretty to be overshadowed by a chunky eternity band, right??

Problem is I will wear band solo alot as love that look so want it sufficiently chunky.

tried on a couple - left is 4 ct total (maybe .20 points - not sure) — right is 6.55 ct (.50 points) and i know that is too big.

i am thinking the skinnier one but really wanted advice or other pairing ideas!02C48D04-9C32-4588-8EF3-C38EA1404213.jpeg

Congratulations on your engagement. Your Oval is so beautiful. What mm is it? I have Oval as well with additional .45 pointer 5 stone band. I don’t wear them together. I wear a wedding band that matches oval band as the larger band competes with my Oval instead of being complimentary. I vote the larger band so when worn alone it will have great presence.

10.46 x 7.74 mm oval can you attach a pic of yours as they sound amazing!

I vote for a plain wedding ring to match the shank on your stunning engagement ring, then a big fat eternity to wear with the wedding band, when you aren't wearing your e-ring. Or, could the eternity be a size that could be worn on either hand? I love mixing up my rings depending on my mood. And the look of a plain band with a big eternity band is one of my all time favs :kiss2: I do love the look of the bigger eternity on you though! I think it's too much with your e-ring, but on its own it's AMAZING. Plus, your e-ring is beyond exquisite, so I think needs to stand alone in all it's huge glory!!

Congratulations on your engagement, your FI did a great job with that oval!

Echoing others in saying definitely get the huge eternity band (50 pointers) - it’s absolutely fabulous! If you can make it work in a way that it fits on both your LH and RH you can wear it on your RH when you wear your ering on the left. If you decide to go that way, I would get a plain YG band as your wedding band - I just love a mixed metal look, super chic, and it’ll go so well paired with either your gorgeous ering or with the eternity ring (on days you don’t wear the oval)!

To me, an eternity ring paired with your ering (even in that 20 pointer size) kind of seems overpowering, and takes away from your beautiful ring. That’s why I would suggest not wearing the two of them together, and then really going big with the eternity.

Definitely the largest eternity

Maybe get micropave on your solitaire?

Congratulations on your engagement :) They’re all fantastic rings but I’d also get a (much) smaller band to go with the engagement ring + one of the bigger bands to wear on its own. To my eyes, even the smaller of the eternities looks substantial on your finger.

In my opinion, even the 20 pointer is too big for your ering. So, I would probably get the biggest I wanted and plan on wearing it
on my right hand when wearing your oval and get a smaller band to wear with your oval.

You can wear the eternity and smaller band on your left hand when your oval is too much (like others commented).

I wear my 20 pointer 7 stone (see avatar) as my wedding band (alone) when I dont feel like wearing a solitaire.

My Oval is 10.78 so almost identical sizes. Here are the different pics I took playing around with oval and 5 stone ring. I also had 3 additional bands made to stack with my 5 stone.

Just perfect I love the pave band with the giant eternity, it highlights the shape of your oval - the third configuration is my favourite with the giant eternity between your ering and matching band

i would vote for the largest eternity that you can wear on your Right hand, as a stand alone ring.
For the oval soli- i would pair it with a plain wedding band.

The oval solitaire is spectacular, and the current matching pairs of eternity tend to compete, in my opinion. THere is also a little discord with how the bands sit. i prefer congruency, symmetry. You can consider smaller eternities on either side of the solitaire.

Having said all of that.... ulitmately it is your choice. it is what tickles your fancy when you see it. that is the most importnat thing.

there is another poster here that recently asked a similar question.. she had a oval(?) solitiare which she paired it with rounds from her earrings. She wanted to know what works for a wedding band. she wanted bling and got an etenrity that suited her tastes.

oval reset or similar name.

so much fun with this project!
love the bling!!!

Glad to help. It’s always pics that help before we commit coins to these projects

I would get a skinny pave band with a width that matches the width of your ering shank. Then wear the huge eternity on your right or on your left without the ering.

I love a super large eternity band! There was one on Instagram today that was 11 carats and I thought “that’s a good size”. :) I am not lucky enough to have one (but it is my dream to have one ), so please share pics of what you decide. For my opinion, go big or go home!!! Can’t wait to see it

So beautiful! I have a microwave wring band and wedding ring. Also have a very blingy eternity band that I wear alone or sometimes with the wedding set. But my e ring is a princess of Hearts - so not oval.
