Would you cut it, or keep it large and whole?

Great question. Although it is worth a lot more cut into pieces, it would be interesting to keep it whole.
What would you do?

They'll probably have to study it for a long time to determine how many shapes and sizes they can get from it. A lot depends on whether there are inclusions and where they are.

Hey Gary,

I am sorry, but in this case, even from you, a check will not do.

Another problem. I am sure that I can cut your desired AGS-0 square emerald, maybe slightly smaller, because of the shape of the rough stone, but still, I think that AGS will not grade such size.

Live long,

A Carat is a form of weight not measurement (which most people never realize). 603 carats would weigh 123.6 grams (if my math is correct).

200mg = 1ct
xmg = 603ct

200 x 603 = 120600

xmg = 120600

1000mg = 1gm
120600mg = xgm

1000/120600 = 120.6

xgm=120.6

I was thinking that since 600ct = 120g I would do 120g x 1.03 which would OK FINE SO I SUCK AT MATH. my bad

And the winner is... Graff Jewelers. $12.36 million.

The BBC reports that bidding for the diamond, named "Lesotho Promise," for the small country where it was uncovered, began 10/4 and continued until the final moment.

Reuters photo.
If its decent purity????, it could yield really a 300 plus, plus carat Asscher!!!
Just what the doctor prescribed for L. Graff....

I wish him the best of luck....
