Big stone on a small budget for e-ring?

Hi I've been stressing out over engagement rings because I love the look of big stones, but I only have a budget of $2,500. I originally wanted a morganite, but I read they were soft stones. I was set on going with sapphire, but I can't seem to find what I want. I would like to find a completed ring instead of buying the stones separately, but I will if I must. Are there cheaper stones suitable for everyday, e-rings? I'm looking for at least a 10x8mm radiant cut or a cushion cut around that size. Is this even impossible? Thanks!

How about chrysoberyl? It's durable and sparkly, and you should be able to get a larger stone for your budget. Chrysoberyl comes in yellow, yellow-green colors. I have one that is a beautiful pale yellow color with no green also. I'll look for some examples for you later when I get the chance if you like those colors [emoji3]

A light or pale pink spinel will be doable.

Have you looked at JuliaBJewelry on Etsy? She has lots of pink spinels/sapphires that will give a similar look to morganite while still being much more durable. What style do you like in a ring? She has lots of options available, but here are a few examples:

https://www.etsy.com/listing/196878400/27-carat-precision-cut-oval-pink-spinel?ref=shop_home_active_28
https://www.etsy.com/listing/267300535/2-carat-vietnamese-peachy-pink-spinel-in?ref=shop_home_active_15

She also has loose stones that she will set in any of her mounts for you (so one stop shopping). It seems like lots of those light pinky/peach colors are available https://www.etsy.com/shop/JuliaBJewelry?section_id=14594008

Do any of those catch your eye?

EDIT: this might not be a popular option, but a morganite with a slightly more "protective" setting could be fine (but of course I'd recommend sapphire or spinel since they are more durable). JuliaB has a whole section of her shop dedicated to morganite rings in case nothing else ends up working out.

I will second the suggestion for Julia B., she has some really good looking stuff. I got my wife a pair of earrings from her and she was easy to deal with.

Here are a couple more suggestions for you. These are for sale on the FB gems & cabs market group:

4.36 ct red/purple spinel re-cut by Dan Stair
11.1 x 9 mm
$1599
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgf3k6fyVCA

4.05 ct teal/blue spinel (you can see an inclusion in one of the pictures but seller states its eye clean)
8.8 x 8.3 mm
$1000
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kd2WRiZFYSs

I would also second Julia B to get a ring well within your budget. I love the two rings that lovedogs linked to!
