I came across bid4desire, an Indian based coloured diamond seller on Ebay. They have great feedback and are selling untreated stones at very reasonable prices. Does anyone have an experience of using them? I'm wondering what happens when the stones are sent to the lab??
3 things to be aware of:
1) Their diamonds are low clarity. The one I sent to GIA came back as I2. My yellow marquise I'd estimate to be I1.
2) Use your eyes not their color descriptions. The color in the pictures is fairly accurate, but the description is not.
3) If you live in the US expect it to take about 1 month for delivery
That said, I have returned one stone due to the inclusions being noticeable in person and they refunded me promptly. If you are looking for colored diamonds for fun rather than investment I'd say they are a great choice. If you are looking for very high quality stones I'd stick with traditional vendors (Leibish, Reddiam, Peled, Diamond Envy, Blue Nile, James Allen etc).
Re: Bid4desire - Natural Coloured Diamonds- too good to be t
That's really interesting. They are very reasonably priced. I wonder if any dealers buy from Bid4desire and recut the stones? I thought clarity was not so important with coloured diamonds.
