Weather hasn't been all that great lately, so what better to do than stay indoors and practice taking photos/videos of jewelry? All shots were taken indoors with sunlight coming in from the window on a cloudy day. I kept the camera stationery and simply rotated the brochure that the pieces were sitting on. I'm pretty satisfied with the results.

Ooooooh! Very pretty! I love the BGD setting you chose for your Ering! Thanks for sharing!

Those are really amazing pieces THBMok! I really love your avatar/pendant - can you show us a profile shot? is it set like the Barbara back? it is a beautiful stone!

(or I could just go to BGD and browse, but you may have a ton more photos you could show us!! ;)) )

I like the last one. I'd open up a stop.

Great photos! I love your wedding set, it has such sleek, clean lines that compliment the center diamond.

I love all three, but oh, I would love to have an aquamarine like that! What are the dimensions?

Beautiful pics and gorgeous pieces!!

Do these help? I'll see if I have some shots with the pendant in focus.

I was trying to capture the difference in wear on the BGD rings here. Both rings are platinum and ordered at the same time, but the ering has an additional year of wear. The tungsten carbide band on the left is not from BGD.

Thanks!!! I love your pendant!!! Those give me the idea... but if you WANTED to take more photos and post them.... I'm pretty sure they would be well received!! :wink2: ;)) :wink2:

The rings don't look very worn down at all, to my eyes. You must be taking very good care of them!

The aquamarine measures 10.3 mm. The diamond measures 7.7 mm in comparison.

I took a couple more in slightly better light. :naughty:

And my favorite shot by far:

"heaven! I'm in Heaven!"... as the song goes!

GORGEOUS! Thank you for the bonus shots :lickout:

Your collection is beautiful. That pendant is amazing!

I think this is my best attempt at capturing actual color. There's just a slight hint of green in the blue.

Probably not as well as I should be.

I cropped and enlarged some of the shots to better show the wear.

At the time of the shoot, the engagement ring has been worn for ~14 months, stays off at home and stays on when heading out. Office work, no gym, has not been re-polished. The wedding band has been worn for ~1 week, stays on 24/7. I find that only the bottom third of the engagement ring looks beat up. The rest looks pretty much as good as new, as does the wedding band.

The following 3 pictures are cropped and enlarged from the same shot:

Another angle of the engagement ring to show that the wear stops at roughly the bottom third of the shank:

your collections are gorgeous!!! love it

You take great photos. I especially like to take photos with natural light on an overcast day as it seems to really capture the colors well.

Of course your aquamarine is lovely, but I LOVE the photos of your chameleon diamond teasing you as it pretends to change color right before your eyes...in one of the pics, it even looks like it is exploding from within.

Thanks! Yes I find it much easier to get the correct white balance on bright overcast days, and nothing beats natural sunlight for accurate colors! The biggest issue I have is trying to get the auto focus to work properly while keeping the camera as close to the pieces as possible. Using a background with some texture or print seems to help a bit.

I find it really cool how near colorless stones can reflect different colors depending on what's in the environment as well. I tried to make the aquamarine return some purple light by introducing some red in the environment , but it didn't really work.

wow!! somehow I missed this before the first time around. your aqua is absolutely gorgeous, love all the different colors in it!!! all your pieces are so stunning!

You have a beautiful collection there. :appl:

i am interested to find out how to take picture of the H&A in black arrow mode? really want to try it on mine. Tips pls :D

The arrows reflect whatever is directly in front of them, so if your camera is black the arrows should photograph as black naturally when your camera is close enough. Alternatively, you can wear a black shirt or take the picture with the camera sitting on a black box. I took the picture showing red arrows with my black camera sitting on a red box.

Those are just stunning!!
