BGD Novela Band, My e-ring and advice needed

Hi Everyone,

I am in love with BGD's Novela band but I would like to modify it with larger stones. My question is which size melee would look best with my ring? I don't want it to over power my ring but I also want it to look blingy. I saw Yimmer's ring and fell in love with it! She has 5 pointers so I e-mailed Lesley for a qoute in that size. However, I am wondering if I should do 5 or 6 points?

My ring is a 3 stone with a 7.04 x 7.08mm center stone and 6.4mm sapphires on the side. The shank is 2.5mm which does not matter as the ring takes up the entire top of my finger.

The Novela band with 5 pointers will be 2.7mm wide. DO you think I could go a little bit larger and get away with it? Is it worth it? Will I see the difference?I have no idea how much bigger a 6 point stone will look or do you think 5 points would look more in proportion with my e-ring.

I don't think you'll see a noticeable difference between .05's and .06's. I'd probably do the .05's and I think that size would look great with your e-ring!!

If it is not noticeable I won't do it and I think 7 pointers will be too big...

I have the original Dream band in 5 pointers and think it is the perfect size. My solitaire is 7.7mm (I think) and 5 pointers are perfect. I have another band that is 7/8 pointers and IMO it overpowers the solitaire.

I think the 5 pointers will be a good size too. The diamonds on my band were from the original wedding band, sized to match the width of my old e-ring. While my old e-ring used smaller pointers, it had such thick metal on the sides which I felt detracted from the stone. Using 5 pointers on a Novela e-ring should look good with your solitaire, because it will be a very clean, minimal metal appearance. Too bad I don't have photoshop skills to cut and paste the solitaire onto the thicker band so you can see it.

I totally agree with mrssalvo, plus a five pointers diamond band is a nice stand alone wedding ring whenever you don't want to wear your e-ring.
