BGB Diamond opinions?

Thoughts on this diamond? Am I paying for the name. Did some searching on other sites and doesn't seem like its inflated price to much.
Thanks!

You can't find this diamond on 'other sites'.
This is a branded diamond, that meets the high standards of cut for the Brian Gavin Signature line.
To my knowledge nobody else sells this brand.

I will add that I would buy a Signature cut from Gavin in a heartbeat.
I consider Gavin to be a very competent and reliable source of diamonds that have top light performance.

I have a Brian Gavin diamond and I love it ~ you really can't go wrong with his diamonds (imo)!

As a trade member I can neither criticize or recommend another vendor's diamond. But I can address your question about whether you are paying for the name.

When you buy a branded diamond, you are likely paying a premium over what you might be able to get a 'similar' diamond for. But when you dig into the details, you will find that similarities often end at carat weight, color and clarity grades. Fine points of cut quality can have dramatic impact on the light performance, overall beauty, and therefore the value the diamond. In which case you are not really paying an extra fee for the name, you are simply buying a superior product for more money.

In addition to the quality of the product, you may be getting additional benefits like trade-up and buy-back guarantees, more comprehensive diagnostics (proof of performance), etc. And, not to be taken lightly in this day and age of 'virtual inventory', you may be getting a diamond that the vendor owns, has been thoroughly vetted, and is physically in-stock and guaranteed available for delivery, additional consultation, imaging or in-store viewing. These benefits are significant to many shoppers who are looking for their perfect forever diamond and want to remove as much uncertainty in the process as possible. Most internet shoppers are not aware that the vast majority of listings they may be browsing are 'virtual' diamonds, generated by feeds from a global database, which the merchants offering them have never actually inspected. The diamonds in many cases are housed overseas, are offered on multiple websites, and may turn out to be unavailable.

Each shopper needs to determine for themselves if these benefits and assurances are important to them, and then judge comparative values accordingly.

Ya I get that, what I was trying to say was in the 0.8-0.9ct J-H VS2 excellent cut range this seems like pretty fair price. But in the past I have read you will pay more for a BGD because the name. This diamond feels like a good deal in that regards?
