Hi everyone-

I''m considering purchasing (or rather having my sig. other purchase one for my bday) a .25 carat solitaire pendant, but am going back and forth because I''m not sure the stone size will be substantial enough. I like the idea of this size since it is my 25th bday.

Does anyone think I should ditch the "signficance" and just get something else, or do you think the size will be ok? I''d really appreciate comments. Also, if you have any pictures in this size, I''d love to see them. Thanks!!

I''d most likely bet the pendant from Whiteflash...so it would be one of their ACA melee, if that helps.

Hey Scarlet!

I don't think that diamond size would be too small, especially with a bezel. It would look nice and petite, but not insignificant. There was a similar post to yours that I dug up, which is here: Small solitaire pendant

Bridget has a bezel pendant that is .30 carats, and it's really stunning! Also, have you considered a bezel set halo? It'd have a little more bling and be a little more substantial. Let us know what you decide to do; I'm excited for you! Oh, and happy 25th birthday!

Here's Bridget S.'s picture of her bezel (it's .30 carats)

Scarlet,

This sounds like a great b-day gift! I''m watching your thread with interest b/c I''m thinking of getting one around the same size from whiteflash also! If you check old threads Mara bought a beautiful bezel set diamond pendent for her sister. I can''t recall the size of the stone but I think it was .25 ish. And you know Mara takes the best pics!

I have a .2 and I love it! Sure it''s quite small, but the bezel makes the visual effect a little bigger, and, well, of course there are the sparkles!

I think around this size is perfect for every day wear, and even dressing up a bit! I love mine and as much as I''d love to have a huge pendant, I really think around this size is best for optimal "looking right" with various types of outfits!

I''ll try to take pics one of these days...

I bought my sister a .15 ACA and put it in a bezel for her and it''s super cute! I have a .38c Regent solitaire with no bezel and her pendant looks basically just as big as mine thanks to the bezel. So I would imagine a .25 in a bezel might look more like a .50c solitaire. I would definitely consider it if it has significance to you with the #! Why not?

here''s a picture i found from my old thread. the bezel is .15c ACA and the other one is my .38c. it really sold me on the idea of bezels to make diamonds look bigger!

Mara-
The necklace you bought your sister definitely was what inspired me! Do you know how the one you got and the standard bezel set necklace WF has the website differ (if at all)?

I''m also still debating the bezel v. the prong setting since I have the martini studs, but since the stone is so small and the bezel makes it look bigger, that''s what I''m leaning towards.

I contacted WF this afternoon and am waiting for them to price it for me before I decide if I want to go ahead with it.

Thanks everyone for the responses! That pendant thread was definitely a major help.

I love bezel pendants! They definitely make the stone look larger and are great for either everyday wear or evening wear. I think .25 will be fine as long as the chain is not super long. As suggested above, adding a diamond halo around the stone would make it look even larger if you are really concerned. I would keep the chain thin so that it doesn''t overpower the stone.

Hey Scarlet -

I''m excited for you! Good luck and please share pictures if you get it. Though maybe that''s not a good idea, because now I want one as well...

I''m all for a bezel set pendant! Mine is only .35ct and even though it''s in yellow gold, it does look a heap bigger. Closer to .50ct in person.

I just put in my order to Whiteflash - anticipated delivery middle of next week!!

Hey everyone-
Here''s the photo that WF sent me of the pendant...what does everyone think? Is the bezel to thick? Is it even possible to shave it down at this point?
Thanks for your input!

I think it looks beautiful!!!

And I think the thickness of the bezel is just because the picture is enlarged so much. Maybe ask if they can take a picture of it sitting on a hand or something where you can tell the size better? I bet once you see it on your neck that bezel will look tiny and delicate around your gorgeous diamond! Can''t wait for neck shots!!!
