Bezel set halo

My jeweler suggested we put a bezel on my ring to close the airline. They'll do a mil grain bezel so it blends with the micropave of my setting. He said they can either do just a bezel, or a bezel with prongs. Does anyone have any examples of what a bezel with prongs would look like on a halo? I've seen a lot of bezel sets, but I'm having a hard time finding any with prongs. TIA!

A bezel setting with prongs doesn't really make any sense unless the prongs are just decorative, because bezels and prongs are two separate ways of holding the stone.

Ditto - plus you have prongs blocking the light going into your stone. Is this a reputable jeweler that you've seen bezel work from? Not all jewelers can do nice bezels...

The only reason for the bezel in the first place is because the halo setting has an airline around the center stone. Instead of re-doing the entire setting, he suggested putting a bezel to fill the airline. He is suggesting that we just do a bezel, but I was unsure if I wanted my stone to be without prongs, and was told they can put prongs on the bezel to hold the stone.

I've seen some very nice halo settings with an air-line. Do you not like it?

This was my thread on it: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/airline-on-a-round-halo.179866/

It just wasn't what I pictured, but its all paid for and the stone has been set, so I can't return it. My jeweler said for them to go in and 'fix' the airline, they would have to make a new halo completely. For it to look how I want it to, the halo would need to be a little bit smaller so the stone is flush with it... He said to do that, the cost of labor and such, I'd be better off buying a whole new setting in the end. My DH and I just can't afford to do that after buying this new setting already. So, that is why a bezel being placed was suggested as a cheaper solution to appease my eyes. I just am not in love with the gap and with the prongs it has - they are very thick and plain, I think that this makes my stone look MUCH smaller than it actually is! (Even the jeweler said "That is 1 carat??!" and measured it to make sure..)

Prior to the new setting, I had a plain white gold solitaire setting - 6 prongs. Maybe I'm so used to seeing those thinner, more delicate, prongs.. so these just seem huge and take away from my stone.

I am concerned that if you like something dainty, the combination of both prongs and bezel might be too much and you end up making the stone look smaller instead because sometimes a bezel actually delineates the the cut off point (or circle) between the stone and the setting.

I really appreciate your input.

The bezel taking away from the stone has been part of my concern as well. I'm just unsure of what else I can do at this point to minimize the gap without re-molding the whole halo.... I personally didn't think it would cost me a lot to do since we have the materials, that I'd be paying for the labor and such.. but the jeweler said I'd be better off paying for a whole new setting if that was the case :(sad
