Hey everybody! So, I have been trying to find a halo setting for me to put an upgrade in. We actually don''t have the new stone yet, I just really like to be prepared on big purchases, so I am doing my homework well before the upgrade actually happens. So far, I have found 2 halo settings that I would strongly consider for my new ring. However, I was wondering if my fellow PS''ers could give me some advice on who would be the better designer/choice since it is bead-set pave for both rings, and I know that quality is going to be very important. Number one is a Beverly K cushion shaped halo setting, price at approximately $1300. Unfortunately, Beverly K does not have an authorized dealer anywhere in my state, so I would have to buy from Pearlmans. I know they can send me the ring to check it out first, but it kind of worries me to not have a dealer close just in case if a stone does fall loose or anything like that. A plus from purchasing online, though, is that I won''t have to pay that nasty sales tax. The other is a Gottlieb & Sons cushion shaped halo price at approximately $1400. There is a dealer in my city, and I''ve seen the ring--very pretty (but I"m sure the Beverly K is too!). I like the advantages that a local jeweler can provide, such as rhodium plating, and the like. But, I haven''t heard very much about the GOttlieb line, so I''m not too sure about the quality, and sales tax will tack on an extra couple hundred or so. Both are made in white gold. If anyone feels like commenting I am all ears! THanks!

You can have it rhodium dipped locally no matter where you buy the ring, just find a nice jeweler you trust, so don''t let that affect your decision. Also you can send it back to Pearlman''s for warrantied repairs, it is inexpensive. Or have it fixed locally, again by a trusted jeweler.

I would buy the known brand. When it comes to pave, all is not created equal.

I know people have their settings. Have you done a search on here to see what the reviews say? I like Bev K quite a bit. I think they look better in person than online. I''ve bought from Pearlmans three times and each time has been a pleasure.

They''re both good brands so either one will be a good choice!

I''ve done some searches on PS for both of the designers..there is a lot on Beverly K but not much on the Gottlieb line in respects to pave work...I''ve even googled it, but nothing really comes up. Hmm. I guess my next step is to have Pearlman''s send the Bev K ring out so that I can look at that, and then see which one would fit me better.

I think that''s a great idea. I love BK though and know they make a very high quality product for the price.

I would pick Gottlieb & Sons jewelry hands down! Their pieces are amazing! Their engagement rings were featured in past InStyle Magazines. My roommate from college received a Gottlieb & Sons engagement ring from her fiance this past Christmas and she just loves it. Her ring is just beautiful!
