From reading the posts and only just starting to learn about Princess cuts it looks like Diamond #2 is the better diamond. I''m getting more confused b/c it is priced lower than diamond #1 ?? (~$450 !) Any ideas why ? (both diamonds are from Whiteflash)

Any ideas why the price is lower for the "better" diamond from the same vendor ? I guess more evidence to the case that you should really see the diamond before purchase.

Most likely, they are "list" diamonds - so it's whatever price the actual seller put on the list & not all have the same pricing...

An actual in-house WF diamond that's also got nice numbers/crown height would be something like this one WF 1.51 F VS1.

Remember also that WF will give you a % off if you mention PS - up to 5% if you also pay in *cash*

I still don't know why these price differences are not brushed out, but... looking at the thousands of diamonds listed in each database, this would be a serious task.

So one can always find a nice deal.

The huge table and extra thin girdle of the first stone definitly ask for an alternative to be found. The seond, looks promissing, as you say

But... WF selects princess cuts for light return in their "Expert selection" did you take a look at those ? It woudl definitely make a difference to know more details of the actual look of these diamonds than the two numbers on the GIA cert, IMO.

If they are expert selection stones it may be that one was bought before the price increases and the other after.
They paid more so charge more.
Brain stated that they havent been raising prices on the expert selection old stock stones with the price increases as of a week or so ago.
