Best way to get best price out of a Tiffany''s ring?

I know, I know Tiffany''s is over priced. It''s not my ring, my BF''s old wedding ring is still inhabiting our house and he wants to get what he can for it. Local jeweler told him $260 and he won''t accept it as the ring was $1400. Any tips on where to sell for a better price?

Personally, Ebay is a good option. It is a little risky, but I have sold countless items on there (sometimes, a PS member buys them!).
